IMHO, if Gronk weren't playing, Fells would have been signed and at practice today.

I agree that, for BB, winning the next game is the top priority. As far as we know, Gronk is still in play, as is Amendola (not to mention Sudfeld and Dobson, but I don't expect anything from them). Would BB go into a game--even the Jets--with Hooman and Solder at TE? Edelman and Thompkins at WR? He has done stranger things.

Fells reportedly had a nice little concussion during preseason and that is why he missed those 7-10 days near the end there.

I'm guessing that has something to do with his release, but am still somewhat surprised that they haven't looked at anyone else. EDIT: Just saw they brought Mulligan back.

Yeah, maybe we get to see Edelman line up in the slot the full game. It's been awhile but he looked alright in the past.

I think we could see a Patriot offense that we have not seen in a while. My over/under line for TE receptions is 1. Same for all rookie receivers not named Thompkins combined. Last week Brady clicked on 24% of rookie targets and 87% to vets. My unofficial stats:

Personally I'd rather the rookies be the ones failing to get open over Branch at this point. I love the guy but last year was depressing.

I don't think we're quite to that level of desperation myself. Maybe if another important WR like Edelman or Thompkins gets hurt before either of Gronk or Amendola get back.
