An old friend stopped by Foxboro to watch the game today

When will one of my people run on the field like we did to the Giants?

that is a particularly majestic cat. Probably a big king tomcat who's in charge pest control for the area. I've heard a lot of stadiums tolerate cats to control the rodent population that's unavoidable with that much food and garbage in play. Someone probably went into the supply cupboard where he was waiting out the game and spooked him into making his cameo.

Family weekend.

So happy to see Bledsoe back and part of the family. I'm glad he was able to get over his bitterness.

He may not have had the same success as Brady did, but he helped turned the tide when the Patriots went from laughingstock of the league to being a contender. I wonder how many posters here actually know or remember these dark days.

Hopefully Brady will come back here after he retires and be part of the family.

over what

Eason doesn't have any bitterness - and we have no titles from the 80's

Three (3) seasons without a quarterback after letting Flutie go.

Hugh Millen's $1 million/year was the largest ever paid to a Patriot. While MVP Doug Flutie was in the CFL w/the BC Lions for $350,000/year. This is the very definition of insanity. The Patriots could have had the best QB of his generation, filled the stands & made the playoffs.

Saints' first winning season in their history came in 1987.
Giants had losing records in ten of 11 seasons and had been to the playoffs just once in 21 years.

I can go on and on...

I'm talking about the Patriots, not the Saints or the Giants. Couldn't care less about them. It still remains that we were a joke for a long time until Parcells and Bledsoe came in and changed the culture.

Eason? Except for '85 and '86.. nothing noteworthy.

nothing noteworthy in '85 or '86 either

without Grogan they do not smell the playoffs in either year

the win streaks in the '85 playoffs and the middle of '86 were punctuated by special teams and defense

drafted in the first round, given the starting job, threw for a lot of yards, was carried to a Super Bowl, never possessed the football acumen of Steve DeBerg, Don Majkowski, Trent Dilfer or Jeff George, wore #11

that is Bledsoe and Eason

Parcells changed the culture and brought instant credibility

Ownership was a joke for a long time-mainly financially

local and national media treated the on-field team as a joke since 1970, which is contradicted by their success

Let's define 'bad' as 'losing': In the 60's, Pats had 5 losing seasons out of 10. Ditto in the 70's. 80's: only 2 out of 10. This is better than over a dozen other teams who were miserable in those decades.

Pats accomplished nothing in the 90's they didn't do in the previous three decades - of course, taking Dreith into account
