Amendola Plays! (According to Rapoport)

Pretty quick recovery for a guy many wanted to run out of town last year... would think he would be used in a limited role.

Even if he just catches punts and takes a knee it will be a step up.

Danny!!! So excited to have him back!!

He is tough. He may get injured but he will play through it. I think he took a long stint off once because his collar bone broke and almost punctured a vital so he was forced because it was life or death but that's a true footballer. Same with Hightower and the way some have talked about gronk I hope he is the same way.

His desire and willingness to play injured may have contributed to a lot of negative sentiment here towards him last year.

I'd rather Danny didn't play in this one, but I am glad he's healthy enough to go out there.

What does being run out of town have to do with a quick recovery.

Is Williams playing today?

I don't think he was injured last season, I actually think the biggest thing Amendola needed was to play a full season without a major injury, physiologically I think that was big for him. In hindsight I think the team limited his utilization through the first 12-14 games of the season in 2014 to get over that hurdle.

I am happy to say I was extremely wrong about Amendola, he is a good player, but more importantly he is a clutch performer. We would have won that game last week because he would have fielded that punt.

We need him to be Third Down Danny.

Amendola is clutch. Never understood the "run out of town" crew. Tough, team-oriented, catches what touches his hands. Love me some Danny. And I hope this is the first game of a streak that sees him play every game for the next two seasons. Since Amendola has been playing ST, this team is on fire.

One win at a time right now. Our math gets better each win now. And I'm not certain Denver won't choke on the road today who knows? One can hope, something odd happens about every week in this league. (Frankly that would not even be that surprising of an upset, in SD, and that team is just having a down year)

Or let it go and not risk a fumble in that situation.
Nah, he would have caught it. but I will admit that it is always somewhat terrifying whenever anybody catches a punt when there's three guys standing around him. But they always seem to do it, the good ones that is.

If Amendola was back there on that punt we would be 11-0.

PS: I only say "we" as a sports fan habit. I don't wear the pads and the uniform on Sundays I understand.. I know there are some on this board who get sensitive when fans use the term "we" sorry in advance.

I don't know, connecting those 2 dots seems a bit of stretch. Did that error give Denver some life/momentum, absolutely. But, there were plenty of opportunities after Denver scored for the Pats to close out that game. Plus, even if Harper had caught the ball, what's to say the Patriots don't go 3 and out and punt the ball back? With the way the calls were going in the 4th, Denver might have scored after some bogus DPI. Chung not securing that INT that Thomas tipped up in the air really was the killer. He grabs that, it's game over.
