Amazing Malcolm Butler Article

Scrap and Logan are the dividends from having Revis here. They watched him and adopted his study habits. Though we lost Revis to the Jets, we gained more from his tutelage.

Pretty accurate statement my man

It's a good article but 1 or 2 days behind the awesome Bleacher Report article on Malcolm. To be honest MacMullen rehashes almost the same article and points. I almost feel like ESPN read the Bleacher article and then Had MacMullen hastily play catch up

Huh, I'm surprised, the articles feel 100% different to me. A couple of anecdotes in common, which is to be expected, but the focus of this piece was on Butler's learning and development from his perspective, whereas Pompei's article was more about evaluation from the team's perspective. Quotes from Butler's trainer vs. from Belichick, etc.

Its strap.
You are right and I am also right. It depends on who you talk to on the Patriots. I prefer Scrap, I am country and there is something affable about scrap to me. Strap connotes hospitals to me for some reason I cannot quite pinpoint.

In hawaii, when people what to fight, they talk in a broken english language called pidgin, and they say, "What you like scrap" lol

Ive been wanting to order a Butler jersey Since the SB, but I just went ahead and ordered 2. One for the wall, and one to wear. Man, I'm moving to Seattle next month too, It's going to be brutal wearing that thing around lol. I might just have to get a concealed carry while I'm at it.

I don't get the argument.

Collins nicknamed him, "Strap".

End of debate.
You will not understand if you have not hanged around footballers from the south such as Mississippi, Texas, Alabama... When they say strap, especially those with grills in their month like Collins, it sounds like they said Scrap. Butler himself said he preferred Strap to Scrap.

I get it but he was nicknamed , "strap".

Moving on...

Based on his play in the end zone against OBJ, it should be "Strip".

I hope the pats lock him up long term soon. Not sure what the number will be but he is going to get a BIG raise. Good for him, he deserves it.

Im not postive, but i think UDFA's can't sign a new contract until the end of their rookie contract

Very nice article. One thing that stood out to me is his humility. Not that he started humble, he had some issues and hiccups. More so that he has been forced to learn humility. That is probably going to stick with Malcolm in all his endeavors. It is a gift and us as fans of the team are going to be able to enjoy that rebirth for years to come.

Iirc it's after their second year. End of the regular season. So the Pats could extend him during playoffs or before camp.

Yep, two years, as they did with Ryan Allen.

Eh, just put subtitles when someone uses that nickname so we know if they're saying scrap or strap.

Did she play catch up as well as Butler if he bites on a double-move?

When he bites on a double move.

This is the only part of Butler's game that he truly struggles with - and I'm surprised more teams don't try to take advantage of it.

Good post.
