Amazing game of inches

Man, i find it incredible how many small things determine the outcome of a big football game -- a stupid penalty, a dropped pass, etc. Football reall is a game of inches / a game of fundamentals and mental toughness -- once you get to the high level.

How hard is it for a coach like BB to work all year long, knowing that it will all come down to a few details that look like "luck".

Just to show that it is indeed a game of inches, Brady completed a pass to Heath Evans at one point right at the 1st down marker. Evans was driven backwards but somehow stayed on his feet and was knocked out of bounds. Instead of giving him forward progress, the ref marked the ball back two yards, all because Evans stayed on his feet. If you're at the 1st down marker, your best bet is to fall down if someone drives you backward.
