Wow, even though I know how much things have changed, this is bizarre. I'm watching ESPN News, with the crawl at the bottom of the screen, and it's the usual stuff......NBA....MLB....NCAAF....NFL......and then, a separate entry......PATRIOTS.

Yup, that's right, the Pats get their own heading, independent from the NFL. It's just a few stats--how close they are to the points scored record, Belichick's record in Dec./Jan., etc. But how out there is that?? I've NEVER seen a TEAM with their own entry, like they're a sport onto themselves. For someone who remembers when the Pats were considered a joke, this was one of those things that can still make me shake my head. Wow. How far we've come.

It really dumb.

Other team boards have pointed this out as proof ESPN loves the Pats.

I don't see the point. What is the purpose of the ticker? So you can see what the scores were from last night or check updates.

Is there anybody who watches ESPN that doesn't know the Patriots record? I don't claim to know the win-loss record of every team in the NFL, but everyone knows the Pats win-loss record. I don't care what team you root for, if you know anything about football there are two teams whose record you don't need to look up: New England and Miami.

I saw this last night too. Laughed my ass off. It's simple really, the game last Monday night was the highest rated...blah,blah,blah so someone in marketing said "Hey, the Pats are off the charts, how can we capitalize more on it" Fans who want to see them go undefeated love it those that hate them will talk about it too. It'll be interesting to see if they keep it up after Sundays game though they can proabably play up the undefeated against the Jets angle pretty good.

I saw that as well....and personally think that is pretty awesome.....talk about POWER and notoriety.....Honestly, I don't think any team in the history of sports has obtained this kind of press (alot of it BAD.....because every other team and their fans......and so many ESPN commentators CAN NOT wait for us to lose!!!...........

Oh, and one of the other posters below had mentioned ESPN's Love for the Patriots.....This could not be further from the truth.....When the cameragate thing was going on......Sclereth, Wingo, Tirico, Greene, Golic, Coward.......All were butchering BB and the Pats.......No....they are putting a Pats banner on the tickertape now because they are one of the biggest stories of the year.....and they're a team everyone loves to love.....or hate....Go Pats.....!!!!
