AFCCG practice news: Patriots & Jaguars (edit)

He does have a point. It wouldn't hurt to have added "Jaguars safety" to your thread title. I think you should just in case some people don't know. Not everyone here can name every starting Jags player. If they can't that is perfectly okay.

Also there's no need to use "millennials" over and over again. Particularly when you don't know if they are a millennial or not. Not that there's anything is wrong with being one of course. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, well, sorry. Can’t please everyone, I guess.

Jaguars starting safety Gipson didn't practice again (foot). Would impact their coverage of tight ends and backs.
Tashaun Gipson only Jaguars player out of practice today

Yes, i started a thread to discuss how this might be a big deal if that guy can’t play or move well since he is their best safety. It could be a big advantage for the passing game because i don’t think their team has good depth like the pats do.

It created a lot of anger and odd comments where it has since been deleted by someone who enjoys their power, apparently.

It's fine. You don't need to apologize. Just a thought I wanted to share. Obviously some people weren't as kind to you as they should have been as well. I don't like to do Patsfans board drama so no need to get into specifics about it. But I appreciate the information a ton.

Stay on topic ....

Whoa now.... Kontra is a board elder grasshopper...

DNP is odd. He stretched today. How is that a DNP? Wouldn't that count? I don't know the rules exactly on that.

Oh, so this thread is still about practice.. ok

No, it doesn't count. Remember how during TC you had injured players warming up and then moving to the other field when practice started..

Let me try this again on this key injury for jax... gipson, jax’s best safety, did not practice again today.

This could have a big trickle down effect in terms of their coverage options, which may limit their ability to change coverages much.

It would likely thrust, jarrod Wilson, 2nd year out of michigan, into the role. Their other safety is only 5’10, 184.

Here is the scouting report on wilson:

#22 – Jarrod Wilson/S Michigan: 6-2, 210 (college measurements)

The Good

– Has experience playing over slot, boundary corner
– Not afraid to step up against run
– Patient in contain
– Puts helmet on ball when tackling, causes turnovers
– Disruptive downhill blitzer, gets hands up to bat down balls
– Impressive bend to defeat blockers

The Bad

– Will take poor angles against the run
– Slow laterally, lacks range deep
– Can be just too complacent in waiting for plays to develop
– Difficulties staying deep in two-high, plays too far back in single-high
– Limited explosion out of break
– Questionable play vision, will run himself out of plays

Ideally it is about that yes. The injury on the report no one is talking about is Barry Church the Jags SS. If Gipson can't go you would think it would be his job to help cover for the backup. If he is gimpy you have to wonder how effectively he can really do that.

That entire back end could be really suspect.

Exactly. Church was limited with a shoulder and gipson has been in a walking boot all week.

Could be a big deal, but yet again, no one outside of this board is even talking about it. And, like i said, i don’t believe jax has a deep, quality roster. It is pretty top heavy.

I can't imagine Dola not returning punts. BB circle of trust for PRs is like a centimeter wide.

Reedy returned 4 punts and fair-caught a couple more for the Pats when he was up from the PS in December (wk-13 @BUF and wk-14 @.MIA). He seemed to be very careful with the ball. He did muff a punt (and recovered it) for Tampa in wk-10 v. the Jets (Tampa won). He also returned one for 44 yards that same game.
