JustWinBrady: IMO, If he stayed here in NE he would be up there with Orr, William, Bird, & Brady and would own the town.

I don't think anyone disagrees with you on that point.

He holds all major place kicker records in the playoffs/superbowl. He has made the biggest FGs in the history of the NFL. He is a HOF lock.

I think PLENTY of people would disagree with you on that point. At least AS OF LAST YEAR; he was NO WAY a HOF LOCK. Especially if he played on the Patriots with a HOF LOCK QB and HC. he could be marginalized as a PRODUCT OF THE SYSTEM with a couple of good kicks.

AV didn't WANT TO OWN THE TOWN of Boston. He WANTS TO BE IN CANTON.

From his perspective; he had to leave town to get to Canton. I don't LIKE IT; I don't RESPECT IT; but I do UNDERSTAND IT.

Isn't he from South Dakota?

Obviously he thought about the impact of losing his "legend" status in NE when he went to the Colts. He is gone, not coming back. Get over it.

Personally I could really give a crap about him being here or not. He wanted to leave, he is gone, see you later. Ghost has done a great job in his first year in the league and he is still learning. Let hope he continues to work hard and develop.

IMO, he was a lock before he left, but thats a moot point now. He is further a lock now with 4 SB rings and owning every major playoff/superbowl place kicker record. He has the most memorable kicks in NFL history. AV is a HOF lock. I would agree he didn't want to be here and kicking indoors extended his career. He was just starting to decline in the outdoor and going indoors certaining gave him new life.

Colt legend Adam Vinatieri goes in on the first ballot and you know it. You're kidding yourselves. Perhaps he goes in with fellow Colt legend Marvin Harrison. They're about the same age. Perhaps he goes in with fellow Colt legend Bill Polian also. Perhaps Bill will move on at that point.

Colt legend, eh? Yeah, that legendary short miss the other day will be remembered by people for eons.

Just curious.....Is Adam considering taking a page out of Tiki Barber's book and retiring for a TV job? I seriously may have missed the boat on this but I didn't realize he was even leaning towards a career in media when he retires.

I will say, AV is a very likeable guy but it's a big stretch to go from doing Ford and Papa Gino's commercials to sitting in a booth talking intelligently about football. Not saying he couldn't do it either, but how many kickers have landed TV jobs later in life? I really honestly don't know if I could see it happening.

And for those pointing at Gino...........doesn't count. He was not just a kicker.

colt legend ?lol lol lol lol lol

Oh yeah.

He won a ring with the Colts. He'll probably have as many rings with the Colts as the Pats when he's finished. You're living in the past.

He only missed one FG in the playoffs, and that was in the driving rain. He was 3 for 4 in that game. He won the Baltimore game and hit the FGs down the stretch vs. Pats. Vanderjagt would have shanked a bunch of those. He only missed 3 FGs all year.

Talk about counting your chickens before they've hatched.

You've got a long way to go d!ckhead.

Home for AV is in the Dakotas anyways...

Colt legend Adam Vinatieri

Benedictieri was a legend long before he went to Indy :bricks: He won't be a "Colts Legend" unless he wins you a few SB's and Polian manages to make snow in the dome (because apparently AV isn't perfect in the rain ). Those were the kicks that are legendary, making kicks in a dome is what he's supposed to do-hardly legendary or unique.
He was injured almost as soon as he hit Indy, and you've got him more on the downside of his career. The Pats had his best years but the dome may help increase his longevity. Either way,his legendary years lie with New England. He'll be a good kicker in Indy and certainly an asset to your team but not a "Colts legend".

Meh, the Vinitraitor cut his ties with New England when he went to the Colts.
He knew what the fans would think, and didn't care. It was all about the cash. People will say, 'yep, if I were offered the cash, I'd go too.' This isn't about that, this was his way to say a big **** you to the organization who in his mind, didn't give him what he wanted. In my opinion, when you say '**** you' to the organization, you're saying it to me. The Pats are close to my heart more than any other team, and as far as the Vinitraitor is concerned, he can go romp in the cornfields with Cletus. He just doesn't exist.

He can burn in Hell for all I care.
