Cool to hear Thomas' perspective on Brady and the Patriots despite the fact that his career here wasn't the greatest (aside from the 07 season) but he talks about what makes this franchise so great and reflects back on the '08 Superbowl loss to the Giants in this interview:

3:58 mark

If you haven't seen the Roger Staubach episode of a Football Life, you should. Not a single person who knows Roger says a bad thing about him. I suspect that Brady will be the same way. Staubach has a number of ex-teammates that credit him with saving their lives in the years after football.

I bet that Brady will be the same way. You can't find a former teammate that says anything bad about Brady.

In a rational league they would be holding Brady up as a positive example of playing their sport the right way and where it can get you. Not suspending him 4 games and dragging his name in the mud for literally nothing.

Brady is right up there with Fred Rogers as a case study in how to do everything right and make yourself the best person you possibly can. Park Avenue really needs to get over itself and get behind this guy, because there is no better ambassador for the sport right now.

It's interesting to me how, after the King interview, Brady's getting attention as a potential healthy living advocate post-NFL.

I was at his speech at Salem State and his passion for teaching children how to live healthy lives was pretty clear. He said that's what he wants to do post-career, work with kids on this. I had never heard that before and it's nice to see more of it coming through. What he could teach is a great public service.

Brady could be made into a great role model for kids too but I guess Goodell can't have that. Brady's foundation is great, very positive work being done.
I think it's very likely that Brady survives Goodell and the next Commissioner will have less of an axe to grind. And will promote Brady to the betterment of the league the way Goodell should have all along.

Long before the Football Life story, people always held him (Roger) in high regards. He's, by all accounts, a tremendous human being and someone with an enormous amount of compassion and intelligence.

Fred Rogers branched out from educating children to save both PBS and the VCR, so let's give Brady some time to rack up accomplishments outside football

Between your avatar and your use of the first name only, I started to retch in my mouth before I realized you didn't mean that Roger, but Staubach.

For one reason or another, our culture's businesses and institutions these days seem to promote insecure men to the heights of responsibility. In the past, confidence and competence were two major guiding factors in selecting leaders. These days, people like Goodell seem to fail upward and spend the majority of their time tearing down anyone who questions them or their capacity to lead. The Patriots became a bigger story than Goodell and he had to take them down a peg or two in what amounts to a dominance ritual. But like far too many leaders today, he failed to get the job done and just looks like a clown.

Since he is apparently a liar and committed perjury, Adalius must be selling Brady is a bad QB .

Are saving PBS and the VCR great accomplishments in your opinion?
