A win is a win

There are no style points in the NFL... only W's & L's..

I'll take 15 more just like it. I don't care how we win, as long as we win. Tom Brady will tell you the same thing.

All I care about right now is the W. We have time to win bigger later.

PATRIOTS WIN.

Not pretty, but this team still has upside. Adding Bruschi, Jackson, Gabriel will do amazing things for the weaknesses that were exposed during the game.

And resolving the Branch situation will proabably help, too. BTW, Seattle can't think they are all set at WR after today's showing.

So who will panic first Holmgren or BB?

Hmmmmm.........

No doubt in MY mind.

The NFL season is a progression. Each week you build on the last. I don't want them playing their best in week 1. I want them playing their best in week 10 to 16 and into the playoffs.

True, a win is indeed a win. Denver and Carolina, among others weren't so lucky.

Actually, I thought this was an excellent win. These are the games that separate the good teams from the also-rans. They played poorly in the first half, and had a number of things go against them (fumble, especially). But they gradually wore down the Bills to the point where they were completely dominant by the end.

This is the kind of game good teams win. When the game was on the line, they stepped up and forced the Bills to spit the bit.

They need more juice at WR, that's clear, but it was still a good win ...

Not exactly what I was looking for, but to win this game after all the first half charity, says something about the character of this team.

Exactly. It is never good to see your team play poorly, but if they do it is great to see them battle back, tough it out, and do what they need to do to win.

i totally agree

a win is always a win and expecially in the NFL a win is very very important

anyway i have to admit that BUF playied better then i expected

it was tough

nice to be 1-0 !

Go Pats !!!

The tougher the game, the more adversity, the better - just remember how our friends in Indy prepare for each post-season with a limp wrist schedule that does nothing to prepare them for the Championship challenge. In an ideal world, we'll find the Jets, Bills, and Fins going 8-8 or better and making the Pats work their tails off to go 6-0 in the AFCE.

A win is a win unless your franchise quarterback takes a relentless beating. There are something things to be concerned about that winning against the Bills at the HOME OPENER don't cover.

Box makes a good point about tough schedules and tough teams. The Pats have not had an easy schedule since Brady started at QB. Even 2001 featured a lot of great teams on the schedule and in the playoffs. And it got progressively tougher after that. I bet that the Pats had the toughest schedule overall since 2001 out of any team.

Strength by fire.

But seriously, a beat down on Brady is not much of a win in my mind. It is a little hollow IMO.

There are many things about this game that the coaches won't be happy about. But, with the staff that we have, teh corrections will be made. Dante is too good to let the O-line play go uncorrrected.

However , I did post a couple of time before the game that I didn't expect a walk in the park as many, many here seemed to think. All you had to do is look at Buffalo's depth chart to know that they are not that bad a team.

They may end up with a bad record but they have some good players and they played hard today.

A win is a win is absolutely correct. Unlike College Football's subjectively rated farce, the NFL relies on W & L, period... and you don't gain or lose for how close or how tough it was (thank goodness).

This was GREAT start, showed the team had guts and could fight and come back and overcome. Showed the NFL that the power running game of the Pats will wear you down.

It was an odd, upside down week in the NFL so far with a lot of teams who are rated highy losing gmes to teams they should have stompped. I'm happy to dodge that bullet.

Patriots undefeated. Perfect season still alive. A win is definitely a win.

Really, the first four games of any season are sort of part of the preseason. Anything can happen, like a loss to the Redskins in 2003. You just hope to get lucky in the right spots to stay about 3-1, then start firing on all cylinders.
