Gabriel is the man. He's tough, physical, seems to have good hands, has speed, fights for extra yards instead of running out of bounds (Branch-like).... I think he can develop to be better than Branch. I hope he's on this team for a while. What does his contract situation look like right now?
06 & 07, he's an unrestricted free agent in 08. He's still on his rookie contract as a 5th round draft choice.

Troy Brown time

Escuse me, but am I missing something here? I have gone through this entire thread, thus far, and if I am not mistaken , isn't one name missing????????
Troy Brown
Edit: Ooops, Box , casually, mentioned him.

Thank you Thank you NEM
his value isn't in making plays in the shock-and-awe category (altho he has from time to time)
man
he runs those patterns, he holds on to the ball.
he carries out his assigned BLOCKS
i say it again he BLOCKS.
which is how those 4-yard carries become 9-yard carries.
which is what makes reverses and trick plays work.
nobody talks about it.
i heard peter king say once that keyshawn is the best blocker among nfl's WR.

i thank 6he great spirit for that man.
the one good thing ol' hollywood carroll may have left uh is troy.
i could go on and on.

nem, am i righ? was it pete carrol and then parcells/

NEM? Huh?

Troy is a decent blocker who normally does an excellent job, though he whiffed on one that got Cory tackled for a loss in the Buffalo game - into Scarnecchia's doghouse Troy.

That was a great play by Gabriel. In Brady's post game press conference he said that the throw he made to Gabriel, across his body, was ill advised and that they were lucky to convert on that play. If Gabriel had not come back strong for the ball the way he did, it may have been and interception.

That was my favorite play by WR for the day. A Brady self professed ill advised throw that Grabrial fought for and made! To me it was a clear statement of the building chemistry between Tom and his WR's!

I think that TD grab by Gabriel bears mentioning. The Patriots have struggled in the past scoring in the redzone. Part of the problem was our midget receivers. I don't see height challenged Branch being able to make the kind of play that Gabriel did. Now the Pats have 2 big fast wideouts in Jackson and Gabriel that can go up and grab some of those endzone passes. I think it's a good thing. Give it time and it will get even better! Now if only our OL could block long enough for Brady to get the ball out there... How many sacks did we give up again?
