Although I agree with AJ that head coaches have to have great confidence in their own judgement, I don't think that he's right to think that they therefore have to be "my way or the highway" egomaniacs.

From everything I've read about BB, a very interesting thing about him is his ability to establish collegiality with his fellow coaches -- to encourage an atmosphere in which everyone can contribute (and everyone is open to challenge). For VERY smart people, that's the only kind of atmosphere to work in. I think that when all is said and done with BB's career (in a long time, I hope!) we'll see him as much as anything as a producer of coaches.

(Evidence of this: anyone remember how he was asked before a Miami game last season what it was like to have Nick Saban work for him, and he said, no, he worked with Nick Saban? Can you imagine Parcells saying that about BB?)
