A New Farm Team For the PATS?

who wouldn't go back home and inherit such a prestigious KINGDOM?
The guy that's already got one of the two best college jobs in the country?

Meyer saw hope dwindle ever since he LOST Newton. Yes People Cam Newton was suppose to be Tebow's successor, but he was kicked out of school for multiple acts of plagiarism. Newton did win Heisman and would have dominated at Florida.
Meyer had signed a kid named Jeff Driskel, who was arguable the top quarterback in the country last year, and a Top 10 recruit nationally. HE was poised to become the next Tebow/Newton style UF quarterback. Why run out on a kid that talented?

Meyer will join BIG 10 and escape the brutally awesome SEC.:roc
1 year and Urban is back
Again, I can't think of a single reason why Meyer would engineer his own escape from arguably the best job in college football for another not quite as good job.

Easier Conference, Back Home, Meyer saw no BCS Team (at least for 3 years) in the players he had left. Florida is VERY solid , BUT THEY ARE IN ROUGH CONFERENCE. BIG 10 BIG 12 NOT SURE OF NAME SINCE IT CHANGED IS A MUCH EASIER SITUATION.

IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN BOOK IT I HAVE NO TEAM BUT LOVED MEYER. i WATCHED ALOT OF FLORIDA WHEN MEYER WAS COMMANDER:rocker:

MEYER WILL BE AT OSU... YOUR GATOR BIAS FAILS TO SEE THIS HAPPENING.:bricks:

EDIT- HEALTH PROBLEMS MADE HIM LEAVE. IN HIS TIME OFF HE WILL WANT A COMEBACK IN THE FUTURE.

Stop shouting! It's quiet in here since there isn't much football news, so we can still hear you!

How does BB's friend Kirk Ferentz fit into this equation??

He is a long time friend/confident, so much so BB hired his son as a coach.

BB will not just Draft a kid because a coach/friend said he's good, the Gators were the best team in collage football for does three years thats why BB Drafted Cunningham Hernandez and Spikes cause they were good football players haveing a good friend at a school like Florida just helps BB get a closer look at a player that he alredy had in mind to Draft

Urban Meyer back into College Football would be a grandeur thing for both Meyer and Belichick. The 2 have always had a respectful relationship and BB has valued Meyer's insight over the years. The PATS having such an option open to us/them definitely makes Draft Day a more special occasion. Need I mention past Florida players like Jackson? Or should I be bias and focus only on the successful present picks of Hernandez, Cunningham, Spikes?

Meyer is more powerful to the Patriots than most of you know.

Cunningham "successful"? Did I miss his strip sack/fumble recovery against the NYJ in the playoffs? He MIGHT end up being a good pick, but he played almost every game was highly invisible in many of them - Monty Beisel was as productive as Jermaine Cunningham....before the sensitive types jump down my throat about the comparison, yes, I know one was a rookie and one is a veteran....

I think Cunningham showed very good progress at OLB as a rookie in the Pat's system. He consistently set the edge, wasn't aweful the few times he dropped into coverage and although he doesn't have a lot of pass rush moves yet, he's done pretty well using his athletisism. I expect he'll make huge strides now that the DE position is getting more settled.

If JC develops into that guy who can get to the qb on a consistent basis in a four man rush, then i'm sold...but i'm not buying yet. he really didn't show me anything other than he could be that guy that does what he's told in Belichick's system and doesn't make mistakes...we need guys who make plays when plays need to me made (we miss you willie!)....we heard a lot of this same stuff about tyrone mckenzie (and ryan claridge for that matter).....where's he now? I know, he got hurt, but he made a full recovery and couldn't stick on the team...and the other guy (Claridge) was coaching high school football two years after Belichick drafted him...Here's to hoping Cunningham's a different story than the Pats' recent attempts at outside linebackers....Crable included...

Tyrone McKenzie was an ILB.

I think many people evaluate JC and compare him to the successes of Gronk Hernandez Spikes and McCourty that is unfair to surmise a premature conclusion based on how brilliant 3 rookies did and how well Spikes played prior to his suspension. Normally you do not have 3 rookie Studs playing the season as standouts. Spikes would be #4 if he did not return from his suspension a lesser player.

Isn't Al Groh a friend of BB also....UV connection with Ras-I ?

Wondering if there were any other Virginia players drafted by BB ?

I am sure Al Groh played a big role for Belichick's selection of Dowling in the draft
