Ozzy Trapilo won't be a R1 guy, and they will 100% know if he can be the LT of the future. I would 100% love to trade back and gain a day 2 pick or R1 pick in 2026, but I wouldn't quibble with Banks or Campbell at #4 if there's no outstanding deals to be had to move back.OT at 9.
OT runs dry really fast in this draft, and if there is a run and they can’t get a deal done they could end up shut out at OT. Once they get the OT they can relax and let the draft come to them. There are some really good day 2 receivers that they can get at 38 if they have to.
You mistake example for assumption.Who do we assume the Saints are trading up for with us at 4? Are we assuming Hunter is there (probably unlikely) and we're trading it? Or Sanders, whose stock is supposedly falling?
I stand by it. The LT class is crap. Why are we so excited to pass up on a completely unique player like Hunter to pick a guy who we're not sure can even play the position? That is not how champions are built.
If Hunter is there, I assume we can trade the pick if we want, or we'll just take him. If he's not, I'm a lot more skeptical that we find someone who is willing to trade up. Sanders is such a question mark. You mistake example for assumption.
I believe that SOMEONE between 5 and 10 will be willing to trade up for Hunter. Do you disagree. We would then draft our OT with our new pick.
If Hunter isn't there, I still think it likely that someone will want to have their choice of the remaining top 10 to be willing to trade up, We would likely get less that if Hunter were available.

My primary point is that I cannot see Vrabel picking a non-LT with our first pick and then HOPING to trade back into the first for a starting LT.
Personally, I HOPE that we draft one LT in the top ten and then another with our second pick, even moving up using our new pick. This Scenario C would give us two LT's with our first two original picks (plus the new pick). We would be set at LT for 4-5 years and still have 4 first four round picks to get our RB, TE, DT, and perhaps another EDGE player plus a 5th for our kicker. Of course, all of these would be BPA or very close.
I agree you dont pass up on Henry. But you said get a LT in 2026 which is the part I dont agree with. You have to do something to keep Drake alive in 2025.I stand by it. The LT class is crap. We are assigning way too much value to the LT position. What we need is 5 legit professionals manning our starting line. I don't understand how a risk at LT and some unholy combination of Cole Strange and Leyden Robinson achieves this. To me, that just means we have 3 legit professionals, a risk and a bum.
Play the draft board. Take what it gives you. We can't fix every position this offseason. I'd rather bring in the best players than force fit into the most "valuable" positions.
You could say Tyron Smith for a year would do the job - but I'd really like to have the understudy on the roster already if he's the choice.I agree you dont pass up on Henry. But you said get a LT in 2026 which is the part I dont agree with. You have to do something to keep Drake alive in 2025.
If the rest of the oline is adequate you can scheme protection by having Hooper or Hunter give a lot of chips or double team for the edge. Not ideal by any means but not impossible to overcomeI agree you dont pass up on Henry. But you said get a LT in 2026 which is the part I dont agree with. I guess..I know Josh would do this as AVP did not, its tough to watch another year of Lowe. I would rather take a late 1st or early 2nd rd chance on an upgrade at the position. To be clear taking a tackle at 4 is like if there is no other options for me.If the rest of the oline is adequate you can scheme protection by having Hooper or Hunter give a lot of chips or double team for the edge. 100% agree. Going into training camp with Lowe and Wallace as the only hope for LT would be awfulI guess..I know Josh would do this as AVP did not, its tough to watch another year of Lowe. Could we get a LT in the top 10 plus a 2nd LT with our first two picks?
Onwenu came into camp fat and out of shape after signing his big contract (making him the highest-paid player on the team, remember), and it showed through the first half of the season. He was just as bad as everyone else, except unlike the other bums, he was making 19 million. If Maye HAS to run to the RIGHT EVERY time, the defense will prep for just that, and collapse Onwenu, making him look bad.
Mike is fine as long as he doesn't get smashed by 2 guys every single time, he was bounced around last year because of need, that wasn't even fair to him.
Did you guys hear him whine about it?
He tried, it's not where he belongs, but Moses is there this year, I Expect a REALLY GOOD LT AND A Decent prospect RT to be drafted This year.
So in two threads you've accused me of saying:He's the 1st to ever do that ,
How many have been asked to bounce around and be considered Top Shelf Tommy?
You're a fkn genius, figure it out.
Onwenue is a Guard. You may hate Bill, but he's pretty smart.
I agree with your premise. But, it all depends if this new team under Vrabel/Cowden can hit on those extra picks. If so, and Campbell is till there at #9, I'd take him. If not, I'd take Conerly Jr. before Membou or Simmons. I'd love WR's Higgins AND Ayomanor. WR TeSlaa Later in the draft. A genuine Workhorse and/or Dual Threat RB would be nice. Trapilo as a Swing Tackle/RT of the future with LT versatility would be a bonus. OG Luke Kandra could be had on Day 3. I'd also get in the 6th or 7th Round the 6'3 275 TE/FB from Alabama, or JJ Pegues DT/FB/Short Yardage Back if they're looking for a solid real FB Prospect.I reckon I will end up in the minority but I would strongly prefer B for these reasons. The overwhelming need is OT and the only two good ones to me are Membou and Campbell. We are lacking in talent and could really use more picks. The meat of the draft is the 20-80 range and B gives us more options to fill some holes. And finally, I’m a bit of a Hunter sceptic. I don’t think he can really go both ways full time in the NFL and I’m not fully convinced his WR chops are what people say. He looks a much better CB prospect, which we don’t need.
Yadda yadda yadda, are you happy Tommy? So in two threads you've accused me of saying:
1) Milton is better than Maye
2) I hate Bill Belichick
You're going to need to provide even the slimmest of any evidence that I ever said either of those things.
Onwenu sucked at tackle and sucked at guard last year, especially considering he was the highest paid player on the team. He's shown he can play a lot better than he did last year- and he's bounced between the two positions before last year as well. He broke in and played RT, then RG. Why would that suddenly make him fall off a cliff last year, when he'd done it his entire career?
There wasn't last year. In addition, you would be committing to keeping Lowe to compete with the draftee. There will be a starting tackle available at 38.
