But not a gimme, long FGAs are easier to block, because of the flatter trajectory required by the distance. Still a threat, and makes for an exciting play. There’s a risk if attempted and missed, because the opponent gets a short field. So probably will see most often like this at end of half or game.

I don’t think it will ever be “normal” because it will only happen at the very end of games and halves. Giving the other team the ball on the +40 is too much risk.

an alternative is to put two on the 53 and then trade one a couple of days after the cut when teams know who they were able to pick up on waivers.

He barely got it over the crossbar. Kickers these days put those in the net routinely.
