Another undersized CB. Great job.
He’s a slot corner. A little bit of research wouldn’t hurt you before posting.

You have 3 groups of clueless fans that post on draft day.I'm not even sure why people who clearly don't follow college football even bother posting at this time of the year. Just sit back and read.
I agree. I think we will see fewer 3 safety sets this year if Dawson plays up to his potential. Good slot corners are damn important and we really had a hole there when Ryan left that contributed to getting beat so often in the SB. This is a low key move that might keep Jordan Richards off the field (and maybe even the 53). Similarly, unless Cyrus does a 180 in camp and shows up confident (what killed him in y1) and healthy (y2) this will most probably be the end of line for him.
Did they think this guy could help them more than Lorenzo Carter? Or Harold Landry (I know he didn't fit their scheme, but blue chip talent)? Malik Jefferson?

1. They don't know college players. That's me and which is why you and other's info has been very helpful
2. They don't know the pro game or understand how a specific collegiate player fits an NFL team's scheme. I have no idea if Dawson is good or not but it makes total sense why they took him. It was a need.
3. They just like to *****.
I'm the same way. I just don't have the cycles to watch on Saturdays and am clueless on the players. I take in the bowl games. That's it.Pretty much why I don’t post much on the draft. I don’t watch much college football and I certainly don’t study the players. I watched some film on Wynn and posted on him because I know something about OL play.
I think they like Dawson as a player and that need really wasn’t as important. The Pats target specific, lesser players more than most teams. Often it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
The Patriots don't have to match up Patrick Chung against a slot receiver in the future. You have 3 groups of clueless fans that post on draft day.

Duke is taller than Mike Hughes and Alexander. People just love to complaint about nothing. CB over 5'10 is not undersized. Please pretend to know more than the staffs.
Hearing the name Shaqueem makes me feel the pendulum on making up names for your kids has swung as far as it can.
He'll translate to the slot early on in his rookie career and should help push Cyrus the Virus to either get his act together or off the roster. I liked Dawson at Florida. He's a very strong, aggressive (sometimes overly so) press man specialist. Receivers in the SEC had a lot of trouble getting off of his jams. I was surprised they went that route last night (I wanted Carter or Reid), but corner is a need. It should also allow them to get away from the disastrous big nickel that they got killed in last year (and decided it was a good idea to use in the Super Bowl).

I will be the first to say I know nothing about the individual players. Have I heard of them. YES. But do I have all the scouting info on them that the Pats do. Come on none of us do. When we draft a player I bio the crap out of it. Although we have some posters that do a lot of homework on these guys. They only know what they read or a few video clips. Have fun guys with your homework knowledge. It’s appreciated and entertaining. But when you are saying we must take this guy in the 2nd round and he falls to the 6th round. Then chastise the Pats because you had their pick in the 2nd rated as a fifth rounder and you are *****ing about it. Then I guess your expertise is questionable. You have 3 groups of clueless fans that post on draft day.

To be quite frank, Dawson may not be asI just can’t fathom why BB would pass on Josh Jackson CB at 41 and then trade up for Dawson later on? In my opinion, Jackson has number 1 CB potential
BBs track record of drafting defensive backs in round 2 is abysmal
Ty Wheatley
Jordan Richards
Tavon Wilson
Darius Butler
Cyrus Jones
Ras IR Dowling
Im hoping passing on Jackson for Dawson will be the right move for this team
