53-man roster before first preseason game

I think Richardson is different. He was not highly rated coming out of school (like Mills was). In fact, he was not on a lot of peoples boards. I would be easy to store him on the PS because most teams would just think he was on the team because he played with Weiss. Unless he is just amazing in preseason game he could very well end up on the PS this year.

I thought Richardon played really well in coverage and he played the run really well too. He was around the ball alot and I think he has a legit chance at making the final 53.

Boy, it got tougher after Friday.

My changes now are in BOLD. I know what Vinny said and Gutierrez could make it to the PS but I'm not taking a chance. Elgin is based on Yates being hurt, I like Washington's upside and his ST ability allows me to keep Richardson over Wesley. Rogers over Brown, same as Gutierrez I guess. Oh, and Baugher too - I like Miller but I don't want to keep an old guy, lose a young let and have to sign whatshisname again. The horror.

Understatement:

We are stacked:

Just look at everyone's cuts / Practice squad and PUP lists and there is an amazing amount of talent there.

I am really glad we have the top talent evaluators, possibly of all time, rating and making decisions on these guys.

None of this means we win every game or even 1/2 of them - all it means is that if they play really hard, smart football and the team avoids a major rash of devastating injuries - I like our chances.

just a thought......

you'll never be able to stash Mills on the PS,
he could be signed by another team at any time.

All they would have to do is add them to their 53 man roster.

I don't think you could hide Richardson either.....CB's are at a premium, these days

You could pay Mills a big salary to remain on the PS,but that's risky, also.

I think other teams are perusing the Patriot's final cuts, like salivating hound dogs.......

They're just waiting for a gem to fall.IMO

Mills has a shot at making the team but if he doesn't make it I don't think a lot of teams will be licking their chops to take an undersized TE. Lets hope he shows progress as a blocker and can play special teams.

Richardson who? He wasn't very highly touted coming out of college, he won't get much of look from other teams if he is on our practive squad.

Cutting players that may make other rosters is a high class problem to have, but I have confidence BB will pick the 53 that best help the Patriots win.

I have no problem with any of your picks. But, I think Wesley would get the nod over Richardson if the tiebreaker is ST's.

I don't think anyone would put Mills or Richardson on their roster if we waived them. But that doesn't matter. We're choosing the best 53 (well 53 plus the IR and PUP) folks.
