49ers WR Michael Crabtree tears Achilles

That's a pretty big hit and he may never be the same player.

maybe he wants to be the decoy on the field on plays......:singing:

big loss but they have AJ jenkins who was expected to contribute this year along with anquan boldin. If they can both step up and Vernon Davis produces, their offense will be on track again.

HUGE loss for them. Crabtree became a legit top 10-15 WR last year, 85 receptions 1,105 yards and 9 TDs. If he's done for the year, that puts the 49ers from the 1/2 best team in the league to the texans/packers area around 6/7, giving the Seahawks the clear edge IMO in the West.

Veteran Boldin is clutch, but not a #1 WR at this point. Manningham is an average #2 WR/nothing special. Both can be contained 1 on 1 with good corners.

Remove Crabtree from the pats game (7 receptions 107 yards 2 TDs), and they don't put up 41 on us.

Who expected AJ Jenkins to contribute? Even if he does, losing Crabtree is a huge blow. Might have just shifted the balance of power toward the Seahawks.

He wants to be a member of the SF 49ers achilles team

And so the Super Bowl hangover/injury curse begins.

Wait a minute. Does this new mean that its OK to label Crabtree "injury prone" I mean he IS going to now miss more that 20 games of the last 2 seasons?

If Dennard doesn't go out or if Arrington knew how to tackle he might have only put up 6 rec 70 yard 1 TD.

That's too bad. I think the 49ers were overrated anyways. Losing one receiver to PUP shouldn't make a difference on a 'stacked' team though.

Sucks, but with Boldin, Manningham, Patton and Jenkins, they should be alright.
Really sucks for Crabtree, this was his contract year. Someone may get him on the cheap next year.

So goes the expectations of a fully loaded high powered 49ers offense

I think we will find out that Kaepernick was a one year wonder and it will be up the Niners defense to carry them.

I still say the Seahawks are going to win the NFCW

Not a huge concern for the 49ers. Crabtree will follow the Suggs Rehab route and be back by week 6.

Maybe this will tone down the NFC West hype..doubtful.

Suggs missed about a month with his achilles tear...that's an exaggeration but with the crazy amounts of HGH he took it wasn't nearly as devasting of an injury as it has been with others.

Dont forget, Suggs had a teammate that slipped him deer antler spray.

Two very different positions. A wr makes his living with his legs and hands. A lb can afford to lose a step, losing a step at wr can quickly end a career.

Brandon Lloyd. Welcome to San Francisco
