The 49ers wanted Brady for a very long time. 2016, 2017... except for 2020. They liked Garoppolo instead.

Trickle down had they gone after Brady. We maybe could have got Jimmy. That probably doesn't work out for us as he just couldn't stay healthy but we probably at least avoid Mac.
