The Patriots are now 43-9 with two Super Bowl championships since Trent Dilfer uttered those infamous words......."Let's face it. The Patriots just aren't good anymore."

I don't mean for this to be a Trent Dilfer hate thread, after all, he has actually 'owned his comments' and acknowledged how wrong he was on multiple occassions on multiple shows. So it was actually refreshing to see a guy own up to something he got so wrong.

Anyways, instead, I figured it would be a good time to reflect on how good the Pats have played since that horrible night in Kansas City. In fact, last night was starting to resemble THAT night, but it's good that the team turned it around.

When I quickly saw the title of this thread, I asked myself "why is someone talking about Super Bowl 48?"

And yes I know it should be 8 instead of 9 but I was thinking that may have been a typo.

Trent Dilfer. Wasn't he a golfer?

I take ribbing all the time from co-workers, since I live in FL around very few Patriots fans.

I dryly told them today that I am encouraged, given the youth of our team (29 of 53 players not even on the roster 2 years ago), and our ample salary cap space,

that we might be on the front end of a dynasty that could last a lot longer.

That got me some sad, sad looks.

The difference between one team and QB being down 25 points in the 3rd quarter including a 2nd quarter pick-6 versus the NFL's golden boy and his team in that situation.

To be fair there was a few here a said the same thing(and on every game day thread).

Even that night, they fought back at the end and showed BB they had the heart of a champion. But last night, there was no tomorrow, the fight had to go and could never relent. And that's exactly what they did. They fought like hell, not until it was over, but until they won.
