4 Kickers ? What's the point?

Indy now signed Cortez as their 3rd place kicker and 4th kicker on the 63 man roster.

In a week where they were just complaining about actually having folks on the injury report; why would they take up a valuable roster spot on a kicker?

Does Vanderjagt kick as short as Vinatieri used to? I didn't notice when we played them, but dont watch the Colts often enough to say for sure.

Are they reviewing the last couple of SB highlight films and trying to remove all the possible advantages the Patriots got in any previous game (vs Carolina; kick out of bounds)?

I dont understand the move; but whatever, not my team. If anybody else can explain it please do.
