Meet the new boss.... teams that draft well especially in round 1 and sign the appropriate free agents will have the best long term success.

Patriots, Indy, Steelers - ring any bells? exact same as it has always been.

If only Solderkings ability to process rational thought was matched by his enthusiasm for spam posting poorly thought out non-sequiturs.

5 or 6 year contracts gets you navigated around this.

I don't know if they will necessarily allow this. If they are lowering rookies starting pay, then the union might be arguing that the players shouldn't be locked into those lower salaries for such a long time. Plus, they could argue that it will compensate for the revenue percentage reduction.

Idk what they'll do in the end, but it's a consideration to mull. Maybe they will make the top 15 have 5-year contracts similar to what they did before (instead of 6 years). A number of possibilities.

5 year contracts for 1st round rookies and up to 4 year contracts for everyone else. That's pretty much been the norm. I don't see what's so surprising about it. This is the free agency era of football. Has been for a while.
