3rd down defense. Woof

Need a legit man 2 man corner would be a start. Getting Sheard back is important too, he's the only guy other than Jones that gets to the QB on the edge.

It was better in the second half. The first half it sucked but the Jets also get paid to make some plays, too.

The thing that hurt the most was our pass rush a half a second too slow at making a big play on a lot of those 3rd downs.

Prior to today it was 40% (identical to last year.) They didn't do well on 3rd down today, but the defense still locked the Jets down in the 2nd half for the most part. Not a bad game overall.

Jets were 7th in PPG going into today, btw. Their offense has been pretty good.

You really can't hang that stat ON OUR #2 corner today. Ryan did amazing against Marshall.

Agree - outside of the first and last series, the pressure was lacking. Sheard's absence was noticable. Fitzpatrick threw a lot of perfect passes today because no one was in his face.

Is anything more aggravating while watching football than seeing your team's defense stop the other team and forcing a third and long only to see them give up the big play over and over again?

Survive and advance.

They loaded up on the run today and it worked

I'm sure the rampant holding by the Jets O had nothing to do with that. . . .

Logan had Marshall all day but he had a safety helping him.

Butler had Decker all day and he got toasted.

This is gonna be a problem if we can't get any pressure on the QB.

There really isn't. It was maddening.

5 of 11.

The other guys get paid, too.

I think the Jets countered in their gameplan as well as they could by anticipating that we would stop the run. That was the best they could have done with their passing o. I'm just relying on the assumption that BB had the 2015 Jets figured out after 3 quarters of football.

Outside of the QB position, the Jets have just as good a team as the Pats, maybe better. Their sad history doesn't mean this team is weak. They can flat out play.
