With all the extremely close calls on 3rd and inches and 4th and inches, does anyone think that adding technology to the actual football would help? Looking this up in Google brings up some interesting points.

What do you all think ?

I'd implement it in pre-season and see if it's effective. IMO anytime technology can help and not impeade the game, it must be considered.

I think they should have a sensor that can tell when it passes a certain line, like something shooting across the field from the chain or something like that. Trying to triangulate the exact position of the ball is pointless. Phase lines are what matter, you know?

I think tennis has this on the out of bounds lines for the serves.

Coiuld not agree more.. something needs to be done, the only issue is the bobbling of the ball.

Well my only thought is it would assist with challenges, more information for the refs can be a good thing. Like say the receiver catches the ball at the marker, and the ball says it is past the line, at least they could then determine easier if the the ball was bobbled.
