2027 Mock Drafts

I wanted to try a mock where I went CB in the first. The plan was NOT to draft Chris Cole but best laid plans etc....

1.23 Kelley Jones, Mississippi State, CB

All of Jones, Ashton Hampton and Zabien Brown were available to me and I could have gladly gone with any of the three. Jones was a shut down corner in man coverage last year so got the pick.

2.55 Chris Cole, Georgia, LB

I didn't want to do it but I didn't love the options here or had targets I liked more available later and 55 might be realistic for Cole so couldn't resist in the end.

3.87 Adonijah Green, Louisville, EDGE

Provided Jacas and Ponder hit this year, we can afford a developmental EDGE prospect with high upside to be EDGE 4. 5 if you include Chris Cole contributions.

4.123 Terry Moore, Ohio State, FS

Currently the best VALUE FS in the draft in my mind. A must draft prospect for me at this price.

5. 163 Ray Coney, Texas A&M, LB

The MIKE to Cole's WILL. I've said enough on how I feel about Coney.

6. 189 McKale Boley, Virginia, LG

Has similar athleticism to Will Campbell and Jared Wilson. Bring him in at LG and move AVT to right.

6.195 Kemari Copeland, Virginia Tech, DT

I like the idea of being able to employ a NASCAR package on 3rd down. Copeland next to Milton Williams gives us real penetration upside on the interior.

6.202 Jide Abasiri, USC, DT/DE

I can't resist a long, 285lb DL prospect with a 1.59 10 yd split. Dre'Mont Jones' long-term replacement? Or just another body on the interior.

6.204 Nyziah Hunter, Nebraska, WR

Best graded run blocking WR in the draft. Always draft a WR is my motto, even if it is in the 6th round. Hunter's blocking gives him the opportunity to make the team.

Please fast forward to April next year and make this happen.

First 5 rounds are no brainers. And I love the 6th rounders, too. Meat on the bones for Day 3 players.
