No Woz I don't live in dream land: you can tell from the tweets that KW will not make that vaunted Second year jump for Patriots Receivers. I really hope one of those UDFA's vaults him: we might have another wasted Third Rounder on the books.

Would actually be a big fan of this move. He played 1100+ snaps for New York last year and was still decent as a starter. Would be fantastic insurance at guard.

Guard depth is concerning. I had hopes that they could slide Lomu, if needed, but he's struggling at tackle so much that they aren't even flipping him to left.

I don’t believe Williams playing with the 2nd and 3rd team means much. We knew in advance WR was the deepest position on the team and he’s only a second year player. He’s been making play in camp based on tweets.

I didn't think originally it would be a problem, but Ben Brown doesn't look good, and Lomu is struggling.

@Wozzy Boutte is repping with two's but I know he's already proven unlike KW.

I mean, we should be a bit relieved that our D is able to shut down this offense too.
Sounds like there's been stretches this week where the O is sailing around and winning a lot.
Also - could be that the last pick to HH was a case where Henry was not going 100%, wiped out, and Maye overthrew him.
This is why I hope to see Raridon use his youthful stamina and burst to threaten more at the TE position.

He wasn't v good early on last year in TC. But they are thin at G even if he rebounds.

If Gonzo locked up AJ I want to know where's H Henry - Doubs and Pop Douglas?? Didn't know Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter played for the Patriots.

It is practice. The offense will win some and the defense will win some. It sounds like you would be much happier if our offense dominated our defense. Not me. They were out there with a backup left tackle which led to one of the intereceptions. The defense gets paid as well and I am glad it is competitive and that they made a play or two. That will make both sides better. What you see in camp does not mean much, the media overhypes it because it leads to clicks and engagement. The fans like it because we need our football fix but I will remind you Maye threw four interceptions in the first practice last year and he had a pretty good year.

Based on what we know today, which admittedly is very little, this is one of the toughest 53 man rosters to predict that I can remember in quite some time. That’s a good thing.

I don't quite see it that way unless you are going to have 7 WR on the opening day roster.

There has been some good info coming out this week.

Prunty is solidly CB 5
Arkin likely TE3
Muma is clear ILB 3
Farmer is our stout DT 4 or 5

Likely roster cuts:

KJ Britt (unless its purely based on ST)
Jack Westover
Kindle Vildor

Positional battles:

RB3/4 Jennings, Larrison, Miller
OT5. Crownover vs Hudson.

That's disappointing another crap WR on our hands. Second Year Player playing with Third Stringers really inspires confidence.

I wouldn't say he was crap. We brought in two high priced starting receivers automatically pushing him down and limiting his opportunities. He does not belong on the bust heap. Maybe you are disappointed because of his draft status, but if he is behind two receivers from lower draft position or UDFA, we still have 3 capable receivers. He is a home run threat.

Things about our First team Offense is very concerning...things are snowballing.

The 2007 Patriots went 0-4 in the preseason.

I look at many of these transactions as "shadow roster" moves - getting a look at guys who are destined at best for our PS or others that we can get back if we have an injury need.

But in this case with Palmer, a 26 yr old with nearly no game day experience, is also to get a look at guys that might contribute NEXT year as we have so many WRs at the end of their contracts.

Apparently he has some speed so maybe he's a potential special teamer if there's a need later in the season

This is the time to be getting a look at as many backups as possible and the cuts themselves have the potential to be re-signed in the future as well if they liked what they saw. If they get signed to another PS we have to add them to the 53 man roster but if we're doing that, it probably means there have been injuries and we have a need.
