DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION 2026 NFL Draft Day 3

Wast of a pick
I am not sure why people are getting so upset about a 7th round pick. Do I like him? No? Did I think he would go undrafted? Yes, especially after the bowl game. But a fair amount of people saw him as a round 7 guy.

I think that one can make a reasonable inference after the Joe Milton experience that NE decided that they will now sacrifice upside for a guy who gets his role and is ready to contribute to the QB room culture as a very late round QB flier.

Why are the announcers trying to justify watching the 4th round and on in the NFL draft to people already watching it? If we are watching it we know the value of late picks. The 3rd day is where good draft become great drafts.

I don't know, but overall it was the worst draft coverage I have ever seen. The constant international picks were as annoying as it gets. The Crownover pick was in for at least 10 minutes before the guy in Brazil announced it.

I'll say this again, they could have taken a chance on a project like Uer Bernard. He was taken by the eagles with their seventh end pick. A player with incredible potential.

The dude from Canada who made the Bills pick should face criminal charges over how annoying he was

I actually didn't mind him.
He was at least understandable.
The Mexican guy that did the Texans pick was slooooow, and I didn't what the hell he was talking about.

The camp battles among the young players from last year and this will be interesting to watch. Unlike last year they won't be keeping the entire draft. They get better fewer and fewer draft picks and undrafted free agents will make

I think Ol Pedro was enjoying the cervezas a little heavy

Per AI:

The 2026 draft class averaged a 8.37 RAS, the highest ever.

I think Ken was referring to Uar Bernard.
Ken may have been thinking of Metz. His question was in context of discussion about Dametrious Crownover, the OT. Bernard plays DT.

Metz is interesting. Crownover is described as “massive” at 6’7” and 331. Metz is listed at 6’9” and 330, so every bit as massive, or more.

Metz is signed under the International Pathways program, which gives each team an extra roster spot to develop an international player. That probably made Bernard less attractive to the Pats because they only get one such exemption.

Yeah... for me.. once it gets to the 6&7th rounds.. I look at those types of players as depth guys unless they show otherwise. We did a great job of double dipping at OT.. the LB we drafted Obiazor keep an eye on him guy can do it all.. he's a better version of Mapu.. he's a former safety who can rush, blitz stop the run cover and play the deep half of the field if needed. Can't wait until camp!

Metz will also be 30 this year.

That may be. But I think he'd have been available later. I preferred van der Berg. Who is going to be a fun player to watch.
