DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION 2026 NFL Draft Day 3

There are rumours that during the ACL surgery, they also had to repair a piece of cartilage, and that there is an issue with a bone plug used on that repair. The concerns are it needs a second surgery.

There are a few different types of meniscal and cartilage surgeries. Meniscal surgery can be a pretty quick recovery when you are just trimming bits of the meniscus itself; but once you start messing around with osteochrondal drilling and bone plugs etc to fix an issue with the cartilage, you have to wait for all that to heal before you can really get started on rehab. Rehab protocol wise, osteochrondal drilling is like 4 months+ before return to sport and osteochrondral autografts (bone plugs) can be 6, 8 or 12 months depending on the sport and progress. The surgery is normally pretty successful in the end though.

I obviously do not know the details of McCoy specifically, so a heafty grain of salt is needed. But *if* he needed a second surgery you *could* be looking at him missing all or at least a significant part of his rookie year. That be 2 years out in a row.

Where do you put the value on that?
Let it be someone else's problem.

Two names to keep an eye on today, although maybe as UDFAs are Wake Forest CB Karon Prunty and Mizzou LB Khalil Jacobs. Both are ranked as UDFAs, but we've had 30 visits with them.

Prunty is 6'1.5", has nearly 32" arms and ran a 4.45 forty (although was timed in the 4.3s at his pro day). He graded as one of the better CBs in the ACC.

Jacobs is undersized but is a very good run and hit linebacker but is very explosive with a 40" vert. Has had contact with lots of teams.

One other name to throw out there is Auburn RG Jeremiah Wright. Another 30 visit, we had a big contingent at the Auburn pro day. He's very much in the Onwenu style of RG. Probable 5th rounder.

Linebacker is our biggest positional need I'd say. We lost three and only replaced with one, KJ Britt.

Day 3 starts at noon ET

A healthy McCoy would probably be the best CB in this draft; however, that isn’t the case. I hope he can play; though it would probably be another Jason Verrett scenario. An extremely talented player whose body has failed him. Sucks for the kid. Worse how far he slips; as I’d be down to scoop him depending on where he falls & we’ve managed to fill other team needs.
I’d rather have Ephesians Prysock or Charlie Demmings later.

McCoy is coming off the injury, but he’s also thin. If we were looking for a smallish guy in the slot maybe, but give me another big CB instead.

I just finished off the draft using the sim. I like the potential ending to this class. If they could get ILB Jack Kelly as an UDFA it would put a bow on it.

Those group of guys are pure Aholes for laughing at news that McVoy may never be able to play in the NFL because of his knee.

Who are the FA LB's still out there? I'm thinking that any LB we pick today is like closing our eyes and throwing a dart at the target. Why not go after a guy who has at least NFL experience to fill in and maybe he can become the next Ninkovich and just take the BPA and look to next year's draft for LB help.

LB Kyle Louis would be nice. Speed & could potentially be a safety hybrid/matchup type player for us. I also like Kelly, KAO, Murdock, Elliot & Jacobs.
