I’m sure that Mike was able to take breaks from his counseling sessions to give input to wolf….. just kind of a weird ending to the draft I would say no matter who was making the picsIt was a pretty day 3 imo.
One has to wonder if Vrabel not being there played any part.
If this is Wolf's work in Vrabs absence, I may be back on the hating wagon.
God the Eagles are smart.
But sure... we really needed that undersized poor athlete OLB from BC.
Ok? Somehow the team in a rush for OTAs seems to have posted a better class, while picking at a worse position. Imagine that.Hadn't really noticed because my team seemed to be in a hurry for the OTAs
I hadn't heard anything, do tell. It's not really a secret.
Do you really think Wolf is just out there freelancing without any input from/approval by Vrabel and/or Cowden? It was a pretty day 3 imo.

Of course not.Do you really think Wolf is just out there freelancing without any input from/approval by Vrabel and/or Cowden?
Exactly. I don't believe he totally went rogue today and completely ignored the draft board.Do you really think Wolf is just out there freelancing without any input from/approval by Vrabel and/or Cowden?
Haha, any questionable pick and wolf’s gone rogue according to some on this board.Do you really think Wolf is just out there freelancing without any input from/approval by Vrabel and/or Cowden?
Outside of Hutchins there were no really egregious picks... just potentially better picks available.Do you really think Wolf is just out there freelancing without any input from/approval by Vrabel and/or Cowden?
Um, no, probably not. I don’t think for a second just because Vrabel isn’t there in person that these guys aren’t communicating via other channels. Group texts and Slack both exist.Of course not.
But by Wolf's own admission, Vrabel is the Alpha in the room, he said as much.
So is it possible without Vrabel there that Wolf could've felt more empowered, absolutely.
"A bargain outside the initial 50 picks". Tony Pauline is a fan of Jam Miller.
Exactly.Haha, any questionable pick and wolf’s gone rogue according to some on this board.
Any attempts to trade up, offers to move back, picks will be discussed between the 3 even if Vrabels not in the building.
They used their 4th rounders as ammo to strengthen their Day1/2 picks. It’s gonna have an effect on day 3 especially in a weaker class like this. I’m taking a strong Thursday and Friday and a less than stellar Saturday all day long.Okay ready to give my 3rd day thoughts now that we are wrapped. My instant thoughts.
171 Prunty - DB - This pick has grown on me as i learned more about the kid. He has some athletic ability and experience in a lot of schemes. Not sure how they plan to use him yet... Outside CB or safety both seem possible. But i could see there being a role for him. Considering how late this was in the draft, he makes an intriguing prospect. GRADE: B
196 Crownover - OT - Best pick day 3 for them. Traits are really good. Has some stuff to work on but has a ton going for him. To get a guy at 196 who may well start for you somewhere in a year is no small feat. GRADE: A
212 Obiazer - LB - This pick is clearly about STs. I saw his LB tape and seeing it was enough to know... he just doesn't have it to even be a decent back up IMO. So he makes it on STs or not at all. It is worth noting he has 2 blocked kicks in his career. If he makes it he needs to not just play STs... he needs to be a top STer. And frankly, IDK if I see him being one of those elite ST guys. If he is it is a decent to good pick. Anything less he is a fail. GRADE: D
234 Morton - QB - There are 2 ways to view this pick. Either he is a camp arm. In which case it is a total fail and waste. Or he is the future back up for a few years after Devito is gone after this year. Back up QBs are not cheap. Over a 4 year contract getting a competent back up on a rookie deal can save you 1-3M dollars a year. From a cap management perspective there is value in that. There is also value in having a competent back up in general. As there are not 32 good back ups in this league? If he is that. It is a successful pick. If he is not, they wasted a low value asset. Considering what was on the board. This is an okay option to try. GRADE C-
245 Miller - RB - Miller is a straight forward 1 cut and vertical RB. He wants to use his straight line speed which is pretty damn good. Don't ask him to do much else that isn't one cut or gone or he will get in trouble. He does not set guys up much. He doesn't hesitate. He goes towards the gap and hits the whole. Or if the OL is set to spread out and give him lanes he picks one then goes. He will probably not go backwards much. He is a rotation back at best. Limited upside. Probably churn and burn. But he has only fumbled twice. Something i always check for RBs. This is over near 400 touches total. So not a bad clip. GRADE: C
247 Hutchins - ED - I will be short here. I just don't see it. I don't know. No production. Traits don't look good. Maybe there is something there someone saw. But from my seat on the couch I see no upside to this one. GRADE: F
I believe in generally grading on an average overall ranking, with the exception of day 3. Where earlier picks are weighted more. The fact there first 2 picks were probably their best saves this day a bit.
Day 3 grade C-
Overall Draft grade B. Cause picks 1-3 where so strong it means the whimper at the end means less..
