2026 Mock Draft Thread

Do you envision Barber being the RT of the future and Pounds the future swing tackle?

A number of names I like on there. Nice mock.

Thanks. I liked some of the trades, especially getting ahead of a possible TE run in the 3rd rather than waiting for the end of the round.

Barber is a guy who isn't talked about very much. He was ranked right around where I picked him so I figured why not. He's played RT so the plan would be to hope he could stick there.

Dane brugler just posted his mock draft.

New England Patriots

1 (31). Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
2 (63). De’Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss
3 (95). Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon
4 (125). Max Llewellyn, edge, Iowa
4 (131). Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M
5 (171). Dalton Johnson, S, Arizona

6 (198). Andre Fuller, CB, Toledo
6 (202). Cyrus Allen, WR, Cincinnati

Bryce Boettcher LB10 Oregon
A baseball-to-football convert who plays fast, but will need the right NFL scheme.

Dane should stick to evaluations and not do mocks.. LOL

Picks: Nos. 31, 63, 95, 125, 131, 171, 191, 198, 202, 212, 247

One of the draft's big questions is if and how the Patriots address wide receiver at the end of Round 1. They have a clear need besides Romeo Doubs and Kayshon Boutte, and a bona fide WR1 is the best fit next to those two well-rounded talents. Of course, A.J. Brown is definitely a WR1, and guys such as Denzel Boston (Washington) and KC Concepcion (Texas A&M) also might be. If I were Eliot Wolf and Mike Vrabel, I'd pass on wide receiver in Round 1 but still hit it on Day 2 to keep leverage on the Eagles, who could eventually lower their demands this summer.

Another potential solution? Kenyon Sadiq. Hunter Henry is turning 32 this season and playing on the final year of his contract. Julian Hill, signed in free agency, has only ever been a rotational player and is known for his blocking. Sadiq both solves the long-term tight end need and occupies some of the projected Brown targets in the event a deal does not get done.

The Patriots should get a developmental TE no matter what (great class for that) and look for a developmental safety behind Kevin Byard III on his one-year deal. The other position with major needs in 2027 and beyond is the offensive line. Will Campbell's rookie season ended on a downswing, but he generally looked like a plus blocker who might still eventually face a move to guard. Similarly, Jared Wilson had good flashes and now moves to his best position at center. Otherwise, the Patriots are starting Alijah Vera-Tucker (oft-injured), Morgan Moses (just turned 35) and Mike Onwenu (one year left on his deal).

The five-across on the line is nice for now, but future starters are needed. Both Campbell and Wilson struggle with their length, so I imagine the Pats want more size. Think Miami's Markel Bell or Memphis' Travis Burke in Round 3 at tackle, or Kentucky's Jalen Farmer or Auburn's Jeremiah Wright at guard in a similar range.

These are all forward-looking needs, which speaks to the health of the Patriots' roster. If they were pursuing a Year 1 contributor to get over the AFC hump, I'd target edge at No. 31. Both Harold Landry III and Dre'Mont Jones can be displaced from snaps on pass-rush downs by a first-step maven such as Cashius Howell (Texas A&M) or Malachi Lawrence (UCF). R Mason Thomas (Oklahoma) screams Vrabel toughness and was a predraft visit for New England.

The bottom line: Prioritize long-term roster health by investing in future starters along the line, at safety and at tight end. Draft a receiver to keep the heat on the Eagles.

Another mock draft as we get closer to D-Day.

Two talented Offensive Linemen fell to us. There was a Huge run on Edge in the 50's. By the time it got to 63 the only EDGE left was valued in the 90-100 range. By the time it got to 95 no EDGE in that range available so we took one of the best all around WR in Ted Hurst. After taking Trigg to bolster the TE group, I traded down to pick up more depth picks in the middle rounds.

Jeff Caldwell and Tanner Koziol represent upside double dips at WR and TE respectively.

Finally A triple dip at EDGE is kind of a shotgun approach. Just take guys with traits and see which one works out: Caden Curry, Gumbs Jr (top 30 visit), and Trey Moore.

Our developmental QB this time is Sawyer Robertson. 6'4 220 lbs 31 TDs vs 12 INTs. Will probably never be seen beyond holding a clipboard.

What I learned. The talent at 31 is real similar to talent at top of 2nd. A small trade down here wouldn't be bad if we can get extra value.

We very likely won't get the pass rusher we want at #63. We're going to need to move up to the 45-55 range if we want a good EDGE in round 2.

Corleone isn't getting drafted before the 6th round if he get's drafted at all because of the "tightrope" surgery he had on his ankle and the blood clots in his lungs. He's going to miss Rookie Mini-camp, Team Mini-camp, and team OTAs. He might be ready from the surgery for training camp, but the blood clots are a bigger issue. Remember that this is the issue that cost Andrews a year and Barmore a year.

Your 1st four picks are lacking in the "violent player" department. I feel that Crownover is a big reach at 95.

I'd say that Concepcion probably isn't even on the Pats board.

Comments from Brugler's Beast:

Concepcion:
WEAKNESSES
Too many drops and double catches on his tape (both at NC State and Texas A&M)
Late to frame the football, leading to claps and body traps
● Unnecessarily jumps at catch point, disrupting his focus
Will freelance his routes at times, upsetting timing with his quarterback
● Falls below size requirements at outside receiver for several NFL teams
● Muffed punt on 2025 Miami tape
● Right knee scope (March 2026), performed by Cowboys team physician, Dr. Daniel Cooper"

Lawrence is a speed rusher who is lacking in power moves and has issues making tackles.
WEAKNESSES
● Upright rusher; moves with some stiffness in attack
● Exhibits more pops of power than overwhelming strength
● Has trouble escaping big offensive tackles who engulf point of attack
● Lean muscle mass — doesn’t have ideal bulk for edge work
● Missed tackles are byproduct of revving-hot motor
● Has had surgery on both shoulders over the years

Crownover:
WEAKNESSES
● Plays too upright and has foundational cracks in anchor
● Marginal step timing and contact balance vs. pass rushers who know what they’re doing
Struggles to redirect show against inside counters and out in space
● Penalized 11 times in 202, including four holding flags

● Inconsistent feel on combo blocks
Had trouble with crowd noise (five of seven false starts in 2025 came on road)
