2026 Mock Draft Thread

Here's my mock draft attempt today on nflmockdraftdatabase.com.

Link: 2026 NFL User Mock Draft #12429246 | NFL Mock Draft Database

At #23 I was happy to move up to take Monroe Freeling. The 6'7 315 lb blindside protector flashed great athleticism at the combine with a 4.93 40 at his impressive size and length with 34 3/4" arms. Freeling can compete with Campbell to protect Maye's blindside. He also has versatility to flip to RT to give us two young bookend tackles.

At #63 I was surprised to find Chris Brazzell still available. The 6'5 200 lb WR blazed a 4.37 40 at the Combine and he offers Maye a vertical deep threat with a big catch radius and allow him to lob those deep downfield passes.

In the end we double dipped at OL, DL, WR, and Edge.

Endries seems like a capable two way tight end.

Vincent Anthony Jr. offers nice length as a 6'6 250 lb pass rusher.

Our last pick Capehart ran an impressive 4.85 40 as a 6'5 320 lb lineman resulting in a 9.97 RAS.

So how did I do with this draft? Are there any steals or binkies here? Who would you rather have taken?

BTW The Eagles took Alabama tackle Kadyn Proctor with our #31 pick and WR Skyler Bell at #95. Who would you rather have Freeling or Proctor? Brazzell or Bell?

My two favourite picks there are the Freeling and Cameron picks. Corleone has some health red flags similar to Barmore last year so I've decided to avoid him in my mocks. Caehear is a very good pick at 211 and Brazzell is intriguing although I'm not quite there yet on him.

Caden Curry has even shorter arms than Cashius Howell so I'm meh on him and I think 3 WRs is a bit excessive. No DBs at all?

I could get comfortable with those first three picks though.

Heads up! Mock Fail.
Proctor
Faulk
Howell

Are on my 'do not want' list in the first.

Jacas
Lomu
Pregnon - not because I don't like him, I just think there are better options at 31.
Any CB not named McCoy

Are close. I'm fine with them but prefer others.

Not a mock per se but this is my current working theory pending FA.

Round One

I think this is a pass rusher. RT makes sense from a value standpoint, but it doesn't look for now that that's a direction the team is looking to go. Maybe we'll get more info that they interviewed Blake Miller and Iheanachor to change that perspective. If they cut Diggs prior to March 13th, someone like Omar Cooper or KC Concepcion is a real possibility.

My guess EDGE - With TJ Parker, Zion Young or DDS being the most likely for me. I don't know if DDS goes this high though. Maybe a trade back for him.

Round Two

I think WR or safety here. WR if they cut Diggs, safety if not. I think the team could be possibly in on a AJ Brown trade post June 1st so I think a Z/slot is more likely than an X.

WR - Antonio Williams, Germie Bernard, maybe Deion Burks.

Safety - Kamari Ramsey, Treydan Stukes, Zakee Wheatley.

Round 3/4

LG and TE in either order. There have been hints at mid round picks for both.

I lean towards Jalen Farmer and Sam Roush but would really like Oscar Delp too. Eli Raridon and Will Kacmarek are definite possibilities also.

Day 3

Linebacker and someone who can be a kick returner. DB depth is a strong possibility too.

Lorenzo Styles fits two of those. Like last year with Farmer and Swinson, day 3 could just be BPA.

We could use another farmer.

I personally don't like the EDGE options at 31 much unless Mesidor or Parker fall. I want one of the 4 RT options. Would trade up for Freeling if he slips. Thieneman an option, but he won't last. Otherwise would probably trade back.

I really want DDS if Mesidor and Parker gone. Really want Treydan Stukes and Ted Hurst, too. Would love one of Jake Golday/JRod/Kyle Louis.

Day 3: VJ Payne, DeZhaun Stribling, Sam Roush, Oscar Delp, Jalen Farmer, Micah Morris, CJ Demmings, Ephesians Prysock, Jeff Caldwell, Cyrus Allen.

If they sign two FA edge rushers then I certainly think RT is back on the table. Maybe I'm wrong (or at least the journos are), but I'm not getting the impression that RT is a priority. Maybe what happens with Lowe and Munford in FA will tell us more.

You can interpret the draft as you wish (and I don't mean that sarcastically), but I was trying to come up what might happen based upon the evidence before us, not what I want to happen. Those are all excellent names however.

All good.

I have no control over what the team does, I can only go by what I think they should do. Trying to read the tea leaves is not an exercise I excel at.

2 round mock from Rob Staton at Seahawksdraftblog:

He has the Pats taking Chris Bell at 31 and R Mason Thomas at 63. All the OTs are off the board.

I love Bell, but I go with Akheem Mesidor (33) all the way in that scenario. Depending on FA, I either double up at EDGE with Dani Dennis-Sutton at 63, or go WR with Ted Hurst, and then trade up in round 3 to try and get the other.
The run on WR's.

5 picks for 2 is NOT a good idea. The draft can be a crapshoot so the more shots you get the better. Not to mention you are moving OUT of the 1st so you shouldn't be giving up more assets than you are getting in return.

IMO you stack your board and have a clear top 20 of blue chip guys that can help you. If you see one of the blue chippers drop you do what you can to move up for a reasonable price. Otherwise you wait and see who makes it to you.

If you are as comfortable with who you would get at #40 as #31 then you could move back a round and hopefully pick up an extra 3rd round pick for your trouble.
If you look at how things are shaking out, the first round values are gone at around 20. Then from 20-50, it's all the same guys. Then there's a huge drop off. Your 3rd rounder that you gave up could easily have the same grade as your 6th rounder. And we have a ton of day 2 and day 3 picks this year.

A trade assures us of 2 blue chippers instead of 1 and we can still use the multitude of picks to continue the crapshoot, as you put it. I'm going to paste below a mockup of a draft with this trade.

I tend to transition to that at this time of year - it's just the way I like to approach the draft. It's obviously nice to draft someone you like but for me, ultimately, it's more important to think about who will actually be Patriots. but that's just a me thing. Both are valid ways of approaching the draft.

Exercise in futility. Been there.

I’ve been mocking for weeks.
I think there are guys that can be difference makers at 63.
I was more commenting on the overall of that particular mock (player values and the 1st pick - me no likey).

Did the following mock on PFSN with these FA signing assumptions:

- Alec Pierce, WR
- 2 EDGE rushers (Odafe Oweh and Sam Williams preferred)
- A LG (AVT preferred)
- A safety (Bryan Cook, preferred)
- A backup LT (Verderian Lowe, Thayer Mumford, or Jedrick Wills)

Traded around, also picked up Washington's 2027 4th round pick.

31. Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona St.
71. Jake Golday, LB, Cincinnati
91. Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn St.
106. Devin Moore, CB, Florida (Tacario Davis and CJ Demmings also available)
131. Kyle Louis, LB, Pittsburgh
164. VJ Payne, S, Kansas
170. Sam Roush, TE, Stanford
191. Jalen Farmer, IOL, Kentucky
209. Eli Heidenreich, WR, Navy

At 246 I was torn between:

- Billy Schrauth, IOL, Notre Dame
- Micah Morris, IOL, Georgia
- DeMonte Capehart, DL, Clemson
- Kaleb Procter, DL, SE Louisiana
- Jaren Kanak, TE, Oklahoma

I was pretty torn. I went with Kanak.

I also passed on Caleb Banks at 31, which hurt.

Assuming cuts/trades (Josh Dobbs, Anfernee Jennings, Christian Ellis, Pop Davis) that would give the following projected roster:

Offense (24):

QB(2): Drake Maye, Tommy DeVito
RB(4): TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson, Lan Larison, Brock Lampe
WR(6): Alec Pierce, Kayshon Boutte, Kyle Williams, Mack Hollins, Eli Heidenreich, Efton Chism
TE(3): Hunter Henry, Sam Roush, Jaren Kanak
OT(4): Will Campbell, Morgan Moses, Max Iheanachor, Verderian Lowe/Thayer Mumford/Jedrick Wills
IOL(5): Alijah Vera-Tucker, Jared Wilson, Mike Onwenu, Ben Brown, Jalen Farmer

Defense (25):

DT(5): Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Josh Farmer, Corey Durden, Leonard Taylor
EDGE(6): Odafe Oweh, Harold Landry, Dani Dennis-Sutton, Sam Williams, Elijah Ponder, Bradyn Swinson
LB(4): Robert Spillane, Jake Golday, Kyle Louis, 1 from Jesse Luketa/Marte Mapu/Jahlani Tavai/Chad Muma
S(4): Craig Woodson, Bryan Cook, VJ Payne, Dell Pettus
CB(6): Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis, Marcus Jones, Devin Moore, Robert Woods, Marcellus Dial/Kobe Minor

ST (4):

K: Andy Borregales
P: Bryce Baringer
LS: Julian Ashby
ST: Brendan Schooler

I would be stoked with that roster. The defense would be dominant at all 3 levels.

NT and RB depth would be main holes.

2027 picks: 1, 2, 3, 4 (Washington), 4, 5 (Chicago), 5, 6 (NO), 6, 7

And yes, I know it will never happen.

You put a lot of work in, well done.
I prefer Tacario over Moore, and Capehart over Kanak, but those are just personal prefences, your selections could be better.
Will a guy like Villari go undrafted?
If so, I would go Capehart and then make Villari a priority UDFA.
I would consider taking Singleton rd 4 if he was there, who knows Rhams future after this year.
Regardless, your mock makes a lot of sense.

Priority UDFA definitely will be a factor given such a deep class.

Capehart and Davis both fine by me. I was so torn.
