2026 Mock Draft Thread

1st mock of the 2026 Draft Season where we are AFC Conf. Championship loser.

With #1 - could have had CJ Allen, Boston, KC Concepcion, Pregnon. With #2 - traded back a bit (12 slots for 2 picks and then traded up with picks for Golday).

Probably McDonald will return to TX and not going to get Freeling at 127 and Lucas at 130 in April but what the hell do I know.

A mock to please both Mayo and I. I get the first round pick which I’m happy about but I’m a bit put out that Mayo gets all the mid-round picks while I only get the late day 3 picks

Note : I’m not put out at all. Excellent mock.

On of my favorite mocks yet, a 4 rounder from Ryan Roberts:

He has the Pats taking:

32. Chris Brazzell, WR, Tennessee.
64. Romello Height, EDGE, Texas Tech
96. Jelani McDonald, as, Texas. Praise the lord, finally a mock with McDonald, and to the Pats, no less!
126. Josiah Trotter, LB, Missouri.
132. Matayo Uiagalelei, EDGE, Oregon.

Other picks of interest:

34. Kadyn Procter, OL, Alabama
39. Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M
44. Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas
46. TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson
57. Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE, Alabama. Binky sighting!
63. Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
66. Anthony Hill, LB, Texas
74. Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn St.
82. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, OT, Wake Forest.
87. Mateen Ibirogba, DL, Wake Forest. Binky!
98. Austin Sievereld, OL, Ohio St. Binky!
102. Jake Golday, LB, Cincinnati. Binky!
120. Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona St.
127. Kage Casey, OL, Boise St.
133. Logan Jones, IOL, Iowa
140. Brian Parker, OL, Duke

No Kade Pieper, Monroe Freeling, or Niki Prongos, all binkies. No Cayden Green.

In that scenario I would do:

32. Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE, Alabama (57). Ideally with a slight trade back, but I think he's a 1st round EDGE talent, and EDGE is a huge need. TJ Parker (46) might have a higher floor and Cashius Howell (39) has more pure speed, but Pierre is a big play machine off the edge with versarility to also drop into coverage (19%), who could be a top 20 pick in 2027 if he stays. I'd snag him a year early, work him into a rotation with Landry and Chaisdon, and have Pierre and Chaisson as starters in 2027.

64. Jelani McDonald, S, Texas (96). I think he has a 1st round ceiling. Could go Zakee Wheatley if the Pats prefer more experience. Could go OL here as well, or a LB like Amthony Hill (66) or Jake Golday (102). Again, a trade back is an option if multiple targets are available.

96. Austin Sievereld, OL, Ohio St. Binky #3. 4 position OL who would probably start at RG in 2026.

*** Trade: I would use some draft capital from trading back or from our many days 3 picks to move up to the end of round 3.

100. Jake Golday, LB, Cincinnati. Binky #4. Pierre - Golday - McDonald will be huge upgrades.

132. Best OL. Logan Jones (133) and Brian Parker (140) would be pissible future centers, keeping Jared Wilson at LG and Austin Sievereld at RG. Monroe Freeling, Niki Prongos or Kade Pieper (all binkies) would be my preference if they come out and are available. Cayden Green and Carter Smith are also available in this mock.

Other day 2 potential prospects still available:

WR CJ Daniels
TE Justin Joly
TE Eli Raridon
TE Oscar Delp
EDGE Mikail Kamara
EDGE Akheem Mesidor (all roads lead to Akheem Mesidor)
CB/S Keionte Scott (binky)
CB Jyaire Hill

With a 5th and 4 6ths (and probably a 7th) the Pats could move around pretty freely.

Played with PFSN's simulator, for sh*ts and giggles. Came up with the following:

*** Trade: traded 32 and 190 to Tennessee for 33 and 101.

33. Olaivavega Ioane, IOL, Penn St. (30)
Manx should like this pick. He was BPA, should start day 1 at LG and allow Jared Wilson to move to center.

64. Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M (54)
Another Manx pick. Yhonzae Pierre was not on the PFSN board. I think Howell may be limited on what he offers, but he would be ridiculous value at 64.

96. Jelani McDonald, S, Texas (105)
Direct binky hit!

101. Gennings Dunker, IOL, Iowa (72)
I might prefer Cayden Green (130) or Carter Smith (149). But for pure power Dunker would be a beast at RG. An IOL of Ioane - Wilson - Dunker would move people out of the way in a hurry.

126. Keionte Scott, CB/S, Miami (134)
Direct binky hit! Jelani McDonald and Keionte Scott would add so much versatility in the secondary.

132. Niki Prongos, OT, Stanford (191)
Direct binky hit! PFSN has Monroe Freeling at 456, so I essentially excluded him. Prongos at 132 would be a steal, and could apprentice for a year behind Morgan Moses before taking over at RT in 2027.

Binkies I missed out on:

- Arvell Reese (6)
- Chris Bell (14)
- Kade Piepper (55)
- Mateen Ibirogba (75)
- Jake Golday (91)
- Zakee Wheatley (137)

Austin Siereveld and Yhonzae Pierre were not on the board, and I excluded Monroe Freeling (456).

I stopped at that point, because PFSN's board was so skewed.

Not all "my guys", but I'd be pretty happy overall.

Manx approves. Very much so.

This would be great. I hope we can also remain mobile so we can run a lot more screen plays.

Blake Miller at 9 seems like a hugeeeee reach to me. And im one his biggest fans.
I wouldnt mind Boston at all.

At 32 it means the team that 1 the SB is known and loved by us and if they moved on from 1 or 2 WRs either by retirement or performance, it would likely fill bpa and need.

Would you take this mock for us from Ian Cummings?

32. Genesis Smith, S Arizona

The Patriots have gotten by with their current safety duo, but one thing New England desperately needs is a long-term impact talent on the back end. Few 2026 NFL Draft safeties project better than Genesis Smith — if he declares.

At 6’2″, 200 pounds, Smith’s superpower is his coverage. He has elite range and coverage malleability, to go along with quick processing speed and route ID skills — and he’s also improved his angle discipline and run support technique as the season has gone on.

54. R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma

The Patriots have gotten the most out of their personnel, but they could still use a more consistent pass-rush presence. R Mason Thomas suffices with his elite explosiveness, agility, and bend, as well as his formidable speed-to-power.

96. Lance Heard, OT, Tennessee

Lance Heard needs to improve his footwork and leverage, but at 6’6″, 330 pounds, with rare athleticism and power, he’s the perfect prototype to let grow behind Morgan Moses.

126. Chandler Rivers, CB, Duke

132. Ian Strong, WR, Rutgers

172. Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami

188. Sam Roush, TE, Stanford

194. Devin Moore, CB, Florida

195. Chip Trayanum, RB, Toledo

210. Lyndon Cooper, OL, Pittsburgh

6th rounders aside, of which I know little, I don't hate this draft. I don't love it either but I do quite like the upside. Genesis Smith needs to improve his tackling but it seems clear he has an NFL upside as a center fielder, R Mason Thomas is outstanding when he wins the rush and Lance Heard is the people mover we need although I might like him at guard if he doesn't work out at RT. Strong would be great value and Rivers would be the backup nickel who, although not having a great season this year, was exceptional last year.

I wouldn't be mad if that was our draft come April. In fact I wouldn't have time to be mad because I'd spend the pre-season celebrating the Mesidor pick.

Saw that mock, couldn't bring myself to post it.

Only pick I like is the Mesidor (all roads lead to Akheem Mesidor) pick. Ian Strong ok, too.

Vega and Pregnon go 16 & 17. Sheesh. Bailey would be top of my list though so I'm not complaining.

Still working on revising my early big board, but as of right now Tier 1 looks something like:

1. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St.
2. Caleb Downs, S, Ohio St.
3. David Bailey, Texas Tech
4. Yhonzae Pierre, Alabama
5. Rueben Bain, EDGE, Miami
6. Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia
7. Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
8. Francis Mauigoa, OT, Miami
9. Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn

So I would be pretty happy with David Bailey, too.
