Just saw that Tua’s day of reckoning appears to be here. Seems like just yesterday that McDaniel and his dweebs, Tua, Hill, & Waddle, were on the sidelines laughing at us acting as if they were the NFL reincarnation of Belichick, Brady, Moss, & Welker. Well didn’t quite work out that way. McDanuel is gone with barely a 500 record, Tua is going with *ONE* playoff loss in his one snd only playoff game (couldn’t even tie Kirk Cousins!) and it’s *only* costing the Fins $99M in dead cap money over the next two years, Hill was the best of the bunch till that brutal knee injury, and Waddle is very good but hasn’t reached 1,000 receiving yards since 2023. Oh well…

The Patriots either pay him or they will pay with a worse defense.

These are not the dynasty Patriots that could get away with not paying a Gonzalez type talent and still win.

Now Gonzo is gonna get paid even more than that! That’s $31M APY, Gonzo gets what, $32M? $33M?

The guaranteed money is huge, I feel like some of that might be “fake” guarantees. Like it’s for injury only, or becomes guaranteed later etc. Many of the first-reported details on these deals this time of year inflate these figures and then the real number is much smaller.

It may not be $31M AAV.. You need to see how it's structured and how much is paid this year since it's an extension..

EDIT: Minkah had 15.6M in salary for 2026 plus the standard workout bonus. He already had 3 void years on his contract which will accelerate for the Dolphins..

But I would expect Gonzo to get very similar numbers, though some of it may be in the way of LTBE Incentives for games played since he's been injured each year to this point.

A couple of tips for avoiding fake reports, especially on Xitter:

• Check the number of followers the account has. If it's <1000: probably garbage. The more followers, the more likely it's true.
• Check the account name. Make sure it's not something like "@AdamSchef4er".
• Check their other content. A lot of accounts post a lot of nonsense hoping one or two things hit.
• Check if others are reporting the same/similar news.
