I think he has first round potential at both tackle and guard, but the forearm fracture was open and he's had a couple setbacks due to infection, so it's hard to say when he'll be back and whether or not it will affect him long term. He's unlikely to play in the spring (in fact he may have already been ruled out for spring practice, but I'll get confirmation either way) so he'll probably be behind heading into fall practice.
If healthy, though, he's a beast. Not quite as dominant as Quenton Nelson but honestly he's not that far behind. Great size and length, athleticism, with a serious nasty streak. Came in 4th place in the Illinois State Championships as a freshman and won it with an undefeated record as a junior and then couldn't compete due to injury as a senior.
That's where we run into problems. He's had multiple injuries that have kept him out for most of the past two seasons. He was in line to start at LT heading into '24 and then was injured for the regular season, returned in the playoff and looked amazing. Was the starter at RG heading into '25 and then had the ATV accident and arm fracture. That was a freak injury but as I said, it remains to be seen if it will impact him when he comes back.
Outside of the injury problems, I think he's as good as advertised. He also carries weight extremely well and is very proportionate, so playing at 335+ is very doable and I don't think he'd lose any athleticism.
If he comes back and plays a full season at close to full health, I don't see any way he isn't one of the top 5 OL on the '27 draft board. He'll likely play guard, but he might get a shot at tackle depending on a lot of factors.
