2026 Draft: EDGE

One name that's getting quite a bot of buzz at the moment is USC OLB Anthony Lucas. He is 6-5, 272lbs with what look like long arms which is pretty much the perfect build for an NFL EDGE. He currently has 15 pressures and 2 sacks for an 18.2% pass rush win rate this season. And he can do this going up against the LT and RB:

Production is an issue with only 2 career sacks, both this year, but if he has a good season, that build could easily put him in the first round.

Edit: Just re-looked at that thumbnail on the first tweet. There is only one player moving at the snap of the ball.

#97 had a lot to do with that 1st clip.

Lucas #75 currently on PFF's big board. Mike Renner had him at #28 in his most recent mock.

I asked ChatGPT to do a scouting report on Anthony Lucas and as part of it, they provided this grading system:

Really impressive service if it turns out to be accurate. I asked for scouting reports from ChatGPT and Grok and both have him pegged as a first rounder if he continues as he has been doing.

yes, who is that?
Jide Abasiri. So. 6'5" - 290.

He was named to Bruce Feldman’s 2025 Freaks List for his intriguing athleticism, having clocked 19.22 mph at nearly 300 pounds. More impressively, Abasiri’s 10-yard split was 1.60, and he’s squatted 700 pounds.

Two of my early favourites for the Pats, Akheem Mesidor and Joshua Josephs balance out quite nicely. Bain is elite and I need to watch Louisville for Clev Lubin and, of course, Chris Bell.

Eric O'Neill we haven't talked about. Since he's plotted right next to Bain on career profile.

Rutgers DE 6'3" - 250. RS Sr.

21-23 Long Island University (15.5 Sacks)
2024 James Madison (13 Sacks)
2025 Rutgers (1.5 Sacks)

Probably poor man's Jack Sawyer?

Small schools but he's certainly been productive.

Blimey!

I was just scanning the PFF big board and they have Romello Height jumping all the way up to pick no 23 overall. I'm a big fan but that is a lot. Or is it? When you look at his performance:

92 pass rush grade
73.6 run defence grade
89.8 grade on true pass sets
23.4% pass rush win rate.
2 sacks, 17 pressures

I love how athletic he is, he has genuine quickness for an edge prospect, albeit at only 240lbs. I doubt it sticks, but for now, there goes a late round guarantee for me in mocks.

Don't worry, Caden Curry is 630 on the PFN ranking. Eric O'Neill is 539 and Anthony Lucas is 449.

I watched Lucas against Illinois and I wasn't too impressed. He didn't look to make much of an impact on the game. One game only though.

Perhaps playing against a better team...
