2026 Draft: Cornerback

Neal. I wouldn’t have said anything but you’ve gone with Brent twice now and I keep thinking about David Brent from The Office (UK version).
That's what he said.

Scott and Stukes not identical, but overlap some.

Scott a nickel, can be used in some safety packages. Very aggressive, tremendous blitzer, good ballhawk. Was terrible when previously used as an outside CB.

Stukes could be used as a nickel, outside CB, or deep safety. Great range. Does not have as much attacking capability as Scott, but tons of versatility.

Watch the first rep on this Devin Moore cut up. It's a teach tape combine rep. I can just imagine Daniel Jeremiah lauding it during the combine session.

1. Balanced in the back pedal
2. Flips his hips to transition into coverage
3. Finds the ball in the air
4. High points the ball for the INT.

By the way, zero penalties on the year.

Seems like a 2nd round to me. Bet he’s close to 30 yo

It threw me off the 2 and 3rd time I was looking for a player's age and 22 was given. Too coincidental, looked up a couple of more players, 22.
It makes life easier. No reason anymore to have to look up draft prospect ages. "22 according to On3". One less thing to consider.

CB is a huge need with this team.

After RT and DE, the biggest need just ahead of LB and Safety.

Need someone to replace C Davis and his contract.

Heard some people recommending we trade Christian Gonzalez for 2 firsts. Uh, let me introduce you to Kaiir Elam, Emanuel Forbes, Deonte Banks, and Quinyon Mitchell among the many first rounders who busted.

You don't trade a sure thing for a prayer.

As for his upcoming contract, recall that years back we paid a premium for Darell Revis and Stephon Gilmore. This is a position we should value highly. CB1 is the cornerstone of the modern NFL defense.

This is a great draft to get a CB.

Outside CBs:

Jermod McCoy (could slip due to injury
Mansoor Delane
Brandon Cisse
Colton Hood
Devin Moore
Kelley Jones
Julian Neal
Chris Johnson
Davidson Igbinosun
Will Lee
Malik Muhammad
Tacario Davis
Jyaire Hill

Versatile Nickels:

Avieon Terrell
Keith Abney
Keionte Scott
Treydan Stukes
D'Angelo Ponds
Chandler Rivers

The Pats currently have 11 picks: 1 1st, 1 2nd, 1 3rd, 2 4th, 1 5th, 4 6th, 1 7th.

I ideally want 1 outside CB, 1 nickel CB, and 1 S.

I don't disagree, but Forbes is turning a corner starting for the Rams.

A mature approach

CB
WR #1
TE
OL
Pass rusher

Can't fix it all in the draft. But there is FA/trades.
