Jones loves throwing to his buddy Bourne

Bad day for major injuries

49ers injuries are getting overwhelming.

If the 49ers had drafted Mac rather than Lance (and kept all those picks they had traded) they'd have been in such a better spot the last 4 years.

Mac Jones and Drake Maye are on a collision course

John Lynch or John Lynch/Kyle Shanahan move?

That's not to say Mac is a superstar. He's not. But look at this season, its literally as advertised in the 2021 pre-draft discourse. How Mac was basically built for the system Kyle Shanahan runs. They wasted time with Jimmy for another 2 useless years and then yeah got lucky with Purdy but is Purdy *that* much better than Mac? I'm not sure.

John Lynch or John Lynch/Kyle Shanahan move?

The Lance pick is genuinely one of the biggest draft busts ever, they spent three firsts on the guy, but it remains criminally under the radar because the 49ers were still a good team.

The funny thing is they probably wouldn't have had to trade three first round picks to trade up to the #3 overall spot to get Mac either.

They could've stayed put and had him or Micah Parsons.

Good thing the Bengals traded for Flacco. He is 7 for 12 for 31 yards with a 2.6 YPA with Chase and Higgins. The Patriots RBs can average more yards per attempt than Flacco can throw.

John Lynch or John Lynch/Kyle Shanahan move?
Shannon Sharpe said when this went down that Shanahan was set on taking Mac Jones. They traded up because they wanted to be in control over who they selected. But after they traded up, Lynch and others gaslit Shanahan in taking another look at Lance. The speculation was that they regretted not taking DeShaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes in 2017 when they took another mega bust in Solomon Thomas (bro looks just like Dak Prescott). Teams were scrambling for the next athletic QB, so they had Lance back for another workout. They fell for it and Shanahan decided to go with Lance. So to answer your question, Shanahan has final say unless Ownership intervenes. Lynch doesn't have any power to undermine Shanahan because Shanahan got him hired.

I'm so glad we ended up with Drake Maye cause if we blew it at QB this Mac Jones game would really be pissing me off

John Lynch or John Lynch/Kyle Shanahan move?
If I recall correctly that was all John Lynch.

edit: as VectorPrime mentioned above, Lynch has forever escaped scrutiny for that screwup due to the emergence of Mr Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, and the 49ers remaining a good team.

Seattle and Denver went loco today, pressure-wise.
