Random Thought

Should a loss of three on a 1st and ten early in the game
be given the same weight as
a loss of 15 on 3rd down with under five minutes to go
when looking at individual player sack numbers?

Of couse not, yet we look at number of sacks as some sort of indisputable number that should not be questioned.

If Crosbys not on the raiders, their not even in this game. Carols allways lucky in that he gets a team with great players in which he then waists them.

Meh. I remember the pom pom pete pressers. We went backwards every freakin year under him.. It wasn't just loosing martin. He's soft. Seatle was good despite his chear leading.
McGinest and Glenn were both injured in 1997. Bledsoe got injured in 1998. Edwards was lost for the year and Ted Johnson was injured. Horrible drafts. Personnel decisions were terrible thinking Martin was going to return on the cheap tender and letting Sam Gash walk and Willie Clay walk. Prematurely signing Rucci and Lane. Had Grier made better decisions and they avoided injuries, BB and Brady are elsewhere. He also played in an era with a lot of good teams in the AFC with all but Indy making the playoffs in 1998.

Ugly looking injury to Khalil Mack. If he's lucky, it's "only" a dislocated elbow.

Yeah, 'waists' them into a National Championship and a Super Bowl.

He won 2 National Championships and almost won 3 with USC who were a mediocre program before his arrival. Went to two Super Bowls winning one. What a piece of ****. Lol.

Glenn had a great rookie year then he was a punk. He was Antonio Brown before getting as good as Antonio brown. Edwards had a good rookie year, so didn't mack. Carrol took the one of the top 2 teams in the AFC to the basment in 3 years and tried to tell us the sky was blue. He sucked then and he sucks now. I'd say time will tell but it already has.

His worst season with the Patriots was 8-8.

In no universe is that the 'basment'.

After sucking for so long and then seeing the parcel years, it was basement enough for me.

Pete Carroll had a better win% than Bill Parcells with the Patriots.
Look at the team parcels inherited then built. Then, look at the team Carrol inherited then built. Sometimes stats are misleading. Are you saying Carol was the better coach because of that stat?

I'm saying Carroll got screwed by the owner's decisions.
And he never quit on the team like Parcells did.

OK. I remember actually being excited when we hired Carol because he was a coordinator for the then venerated 9ers team. But every year just got worse. That's why it still leaves a mark. But I'll say this, as much as I think Carols over rated, I'll always respect him more then Parcels. I'll never forgive Parcells.

Shocker but I thought Carroll got fired a little too soon. Glad that one worked out lol.

Law played with a club after a fracture one of those years too.

Herbert having another good game tonight. Chargers gonna be in the mix this year.

1999 season. I knew I was forgetting someone which makes my argument even stronger.

not sure what the Chargers were trying to accomplish there. Basically asking for the Raiders to creep back into this game.

So that's Carroll's fault? BB released Glenn in 2001, so even Bill couldn't make it work.
Edwards had a good rookie year, so didn't mack.
Martin's loss was glaring when the Pats played the better teams. Edwards was a complete no show in many games against better run defenses. He averaged a whopping 2.8 yards per carry and 2 rushing TD's during the last half of the season not counting the blowout loss against the Rams where he ran for 196 yards. In fact, 45% of his rushing yards came from 4 games and 26% of his yards came from weeks 15 and 16 of the season. So where was he the rest of the year? He wasn't as good as people want to believe. Watch what some of the commentators say during the games in the 2nd half of the season where they criticized him being completely ineffective. Tony Carter was a downgrade to Sam Gash.
Carrol took the one of the top 2 teams in the AFC to the basment in 3 years and tried to tell us the sky was blue.
Pats were eroding starting in the 1998 season. Martin was the catalyst for the Jets, the Bills re-emerged with Flutie and Miami had a young defense. Peyton Manning and the Colts came out of nowhere in 1999. Jacksonville had been coming for years and had no business not making the Super Bowl in 1999.

It seems like you don't Carroll just because.
