Tom Brady didn't like it either and I absolutely agree with him. The numbers were put in place so you as an offensive and defensive player know who is who.

Depends on which history you’re referring to. Today’s numbers are more like the pre-1973 system when uniform numbers were more random (e.g. Cardinals legendary safety Larry Wilson wore number 8; Raiders center Jim Otto was 00, etc.). Then they began limiting choices of uniform numbers based on positions.

The guy with the other colored shirt and different colored helmet are on the other team. I don't mind the number issue and frankly find it ridiculous that people have a problem with it.
