2025 Draft: WRs

Things are still in play. Could Travis Hunter fall to 4? He’s the WR, sometime CB. What an alpha dog he would be for the Patriots!

Nate Tice has McMillan #3 overall on his draft board.
You can tell fatigue is a factor with Tet. After a while people just start nitpicking or get tired of a prospect. It happens every draft. I hate to keep bringing him up but Golden is a good example of it. Talented prospect but went from a day two pick to a mid round 1st, "WR1 if not for Hunter" bc of a 40.

No way you watched him in college and thought "that's a 1st round pick" before the combine. There are tourist and those that live on draft island for sure.

He was widely regarded as a 1st round prospect pre combine.

Agreed. The 40 just elevated him to the top half potentially. Tet eventually quieted that down some by running at his pro day.

You're right I should have said before the last 6-8 games of the season. Even after that he went from a fringe 1st RD guy to a mid 1st. I'm not looking at the database but I'd bet no one had him close to where he is now in November.

Round 2 is shaping up to be WR heavy.

Potentially in no order....

Higgins
Burden
Egbuka
Noel
Harris
Bech
Kyle Williams
Elic Ayomanor
Royals
Restrepo
Restrepo will be a Eight Rounder.

If you worked for the FO, they'd take away your key to the room with the big board in because you'd be sneaking in and moving all the WRs all over the board on an alternate daily basis

WR in every Round one can't be too sure...I'm the WR High Priest according to Steve.

Ill say this - I'm not a Restrepo guy. Never understood the hype as a 2nd(earlier in the year) or 3rd rounder. But as a 5 or 6, I'm fine with it. He's not the next Welker, Brown, or Edelman. But, he does fit that role better than a Burden or Noel in the draft, or Douglas on the roster. If this team wants a quick, sharp route runner with a feel at certain times in the offense, he can provide some value IMO.

I don't think Restrepo's quickness stood out on tape: he just look slow in all aspects to me. I really feel his game is not going to translate like Andy Isabella's. That said a 6th Round flier is ok. I think Tez Johnson though skinny and light 154lbs soaking wet: might be the better pro if his body holds up: Tez Johnson's quickness is Elite!

That's why i wouldn't put him in that class of guy. He's not going to consistently get open and catch 100 balls.

But if you're running Douglas or Polk in the slot at times, he's a vastly different type of guy. You could find a way to change it up and have him produce in certain matchups. The thing between him and Tez, is toughness, instincts, and hands. Tez needs a completely clear lane to catch the ball. He won't come up with it with a defender anywhere near him on shorter/intermediate stuff.

That looks really good Golden threatens the entire field. He would be a awesome WR to pair with Diggs.
It's because of the Diggs signing that I've not been demanding we select Golden at 4 but I would prefer it in a trade down scenario where we missed out on the LT we were targeting.

Kyle Williams - Jaylin Noel or Jack Bech in that order are my consolations if we don't get Golden. Also would love Dont'e Thornton on Day 3.
