2025 Draft: WRs

Notice that Will Campbell is also ranked #14. Drafting him at #4 would be a significant reach according to McShay. I believe the best bet is to take Hunter or Carter at 4 if one drops or trade down.
Agreed. Campbell at #14 says a lot. Probably sees him as a guard. Has Membou much higher.

@manxman2601 @bakes781 Tai Felton said to say hello are you Scouts Sleeping on him?? I'm impressed: I think he would be a volume catcher in a McDaniels Offense. I think Tai Felton's tape is way better than Savion Williams.

Not sure i see the comp? Savion has 3 inches and nearly 40 lbs on Tai. That said Tai is a lot more experienced and therefore ready made to play at the next level. High floor vs high ceiling with Savion.

I wasn't saying a comp: I meant Savion Williams was talked about way more than Tai Felton around these parts. Put Tai Felton down as my binkie.

I would love us to come away with Membou and Trapilo or A Ersery and O Trapilo.

Can we please get somebody who can create separation instead of contested catch guys?
...
Absolutely!!!

N'Keal Harry was good, supposedly, at contest catches, at least in college. A lot of guys are good at contested catches in college, but when I hear that a WR has a lot of contested catches, it suggests to me that he cannot get separation.

There should be one and only one primary criteria for a WR, CAN HE GET OPEN? Separation and, of course, decent hands should be the primary consideration. The Patriots seem to have forgotten this....

A big poster of N'Keal Harry should in every office at the Patriots HQ... Slo' Poke might prove to be another poster child....

Gotcha.

I just think the Pats are looking for guys with size and speed. They need to be capable of blocking in the run game and yes getting separation.

Tory Horton Colorado st. He is the perfect replacement for Bourne. Rd 3-5. A do it all lunch pail guy.

Jalen Royals Utah st. Rd 2-3 with possible late rd 1 depending on combine/proday. Mountain West was a fun watch this year. He might be one of the steals of this because frankly, he’s got it all.

Both coming off injuries but Loved what I saw from them last season and what they did up until their injuries this season.

I like both of these players.

I've been taking a deep dive into some of PFFs more advanced stats for receivers; how they perform on deep, short and intermediate passes, how they perform against man and zone for example, and I've come to the conclusion that Kyle Williams of Washington State might be the best value receiver in this draft. For example:

For receivers with a minimum of 20 deep targets - 2nd in Y/RR to Matthew Golden
1st in TDs

On short passes (under 10 yds). - 1st in Y/RR
1st in YAC/RR

On screen passes 1st in Y/RR*
1st in YAC/RR*

Against man coverage. 2nd in Y/RR to Tre Harris
4th in Reception percentage **

All this tells me he is super explosive and an ideal Z receiver.

* There were some prospects higher but I don't consider them draftable (small schools, names I haven't heard of or seen on big boards etc).

** Filtered out those with less than 30 targets in man coverage

Kyle Williams Tape scares me the most no complicated Routes... Poor Tackling and most of those TD's: he won't do that in the Pros consistently. Three yards pass the LOS and takes it to the house: Day 3 candidate for me he should not go on Day 2.

I take that back manman: that his key the deep targets.

you're right that he doesn't seem to have the most complex route tree but his ability to get first downs on shorter passes and his ability to stretch the field deep are very alluring.

Two guys that surprise me after their 40 times are Ricky White and Pat Bryant... both clocked a pedestrian 4.61. Both played so much faster on tape: definitely 5th to 6th Round Guys now.

@manxman2601 one thing I do realize this WR Class have a lot of potential Burners. There should be a lot of interesting WR's available on Day 3 yess @Steve102.
