2025-26 Bruins

You're spot on. Two things can be true; Tampa was getting away with murder and the B's got called for responding. Bad officiating led to undisciplined reaction, ugly all the way around. Swayman got assaulted in his crease, no call. B's clear offender out, whistle. Kastelic takes a slash, gets called for responding with a crosscheck. Kuraly was on the ice getting hacked with no call, closes hand on puck and it's off to the sin bin. That said, if you're a Bruin there you have to read the sheet and use your head. Shameful all the way around.
I'm still pissed about that game. not specifically the outcome, but the whole spectacle that it was, and I still despise the shootout.

Crazy kids!
"And you don't see that every day".
Well, maybe not every day, but every week?

I couldn't help but thinking that the goalie fight was discussed beforehand.

All so very true...

At 5-1, feels like the refs inserted themselves in a one-sided manner to do what was necessary to make this marquis game more "compelling".
That said, at 5-2 and seemingly still in total control of the game, Swayman decides to go WWE by first launching himself on top of Hagel
And then, playing it up for the massive stadium crowd, going full Chief Jay Strongbow with a mid-ice war dance.

You're up 5-2 and you initiate/provoke like this on the road?
He made it SHOWTIME.
------------------------------------
Again, refs were without a doubt calling a one-sided game for the last 35 minutes.....but Boston's penalties were penalties.

Bruins Season Penalty Stats:

Zadorov and Kastelic are #1 & 2 in PIM
The B's have 7 players in the top 71 in a 32-team league. (Using averages, should be 2.2 players in top 71. B's have 7).
B's are #1 in team PIM.....752 minutes
League median PIM is 455 minutes

And...B's are 27th in PK (penalty kills)

Not surprising, this "style" works at home, less so on the road.
Of the 8 currently playoff seeded East teams, B's have most home wins (21)...but least road wins (11)
-------------------
Fun team to watch
This more physical style should pay playoff dividends
But not if they live in the penalty box and can't tighten up their PK

The refs need to pay attention more. They were letting TB get away with starting **** during that undisciplined 2nd period. Boston has to know better, but the refs were atrocious in that period too.

Also, that was some ******** theatrics to start the game. Pirates and scrolls and silly outfits. WTF? TB should be barred from ever again hosting an outdoor game. Made a mockery of the game Yuck. I think the stadium series has run its course.
Now, I don't disagree with that at all. McAvoy got leg whipped right in front of the ref and nothing. Then he got planted, again in front of the ref and nothing.

There was an agenda last night no doubt and they played into it. I suppose Pastas hook is something that happens often with no call as well.

Gotta love a goalie fight

Obviously that fight did not help either his team or himself.

I want to see at least one of the Providence kids get a couple of starts to see what they have there; neither of them could have been any worse than our $9M starter was last night... A national cable audience and everything... I mean that was Puka Ralf-level chokery, right from the opening face-off...

Leave it to Vince to play the kayfabe card for the marks by inducting Rebel Joe Scarpa from Nutley NJ - as he was known i.e. by his Real name throughout the NWA for over Twenty years - as "injun chief" Jay "strongbow", a name he took from a long-time west coast promoter...

Spot-on regarding the Ruins; and one of the reasons why their PK sucks is that the Forwards they have attempting to kill those penalties kinda actually Suck at those jobs outside of Kuraly: I mean Minten, Kastelic, Jeannot? Give me a ****ing break. I cannot fathom why whoever of Steeves/Eyessimont dresses isn't used as the other Forward with Kuraly as the top pair; then maybe have the more experienced ZaZa & Mittelstadt as the backups. Those other three are just too... dam... slow...

Happy NHL Trade Deadline Day... Betcha the Ruins don't do anything close to what needs to be done...

Nice to see McAvoy back to his usual suck self now that he's playing for the team that pays his salary. Yep you guessed it another turnover that instantly led to a game winning goal for the opponent.

Yep; Charlie taketh (his bloated salary) and Charlie giveth-away (goals to the opponent, tonight being the latest example)...

Unless their contracts contain No-Trade language, then one of these 4 over-paid defencemen should've been traded for a Left-shot Finisher;
or for youth & picks if Charlie, Cam & Donnie had come to their senses and realized that this team ain't going anywhere...

Need to trade sieve Swayman away before his no-trade kicks in July 1

Let's see what the two kids in Providence can do in the NHL; both of them are having tremendous seasons down there.

Must give credit where credit is due...McAvoy with both goals.

Nice win yesterday!

Zacha is on fire.
Swayman is giving us a chance.
Still too many penalties and boneheaded plays that give up odd man rushes, but despite that, they have earned even more of my attention as we head down the homestretch.
Finish strong boys!!

Lukas Reichel has given the 3rd line of Lindholm - Geekie some life that they hadn't had since before the break... Horrible penalty-shot attempt, however; and still too many losses during puck battles... But his O-Zone passing is legit, and if they could just keep possession there longer, eventually Geekie should start knocking some in...

And even after scoring a couple of goals last week, McAvoy STILL passes-up shots too often... Very frustrating.

Losing both a 3rd-period lead at home And the game itself yet still qualifying for the POs... It's called Ruins.

Wonder what the team record is for fewest goals scored while being swept in a PO series...

I’d say forwards might be a wash. Thompson is a beast.

I think goaltending will be the difference. B’s in 7
