Some Dane Brugler nuggets from his latest podcast:
Anthony Hill - scouts see Hill as a 3rd or 4th round guy
“Monroe Freeling is one of the more underrated draft eligible tackles”. Brugler doesn’t know if he’ll declare as he only has 15 starts under his belt and thinks he’d be better served going back to school but also says if he does declare he’s going top 100. “He’s big, he’s athletic , has thudding hands and good recovery skills…scouts kinda like him”.
“Treydan Stukes is a draftable guy…any time we see Stukes versus Tyson that’s going to be a must see for NFL scouts”
Says there are area scouts that see Caleb Lomu as a day three guy. Says some have given him day two grades but says he’s one of the more polarising prospects. Highlights the lack of play strength. He does acknowledge that he’s a top 50 guy because tackles get pushed up but”definitely not the consensus when you talk to scouts around the league”.
Says Michigan EDGE Derrick Moore is playing with a lot more violence this year”. My ears perked up at that word.
The strength of Jaishawn Barham's game is speed.
"It might not be this year but every single starter for Ohio State's defense will get drafted".
"You have to live or die with Davison Igbinosun's physicality because you're not going to coach it out of him...as soon as the plays over he's immediately looking to the ref to see if there's a flag".
Says with Igbinosun's physical makeup he could certainly get drafted in the top two rounds
Caden Curry's motor is non-stop and he's going to find a spot. Ranks him middle rounds, perhaps early day three.
Is told Max Klare is 50/50 on whether he declares.
Scouts keep telling him to mention Auburn EDGE Keyron Crawford "6'4", 250, ripped. Impressive guy when he steps on the scale but he also plays like that. High effort, big time competitor. Scouts really like him."
Tennessee LB Arion Carter is playing with turf toe on both feet. Second in the SEC in tackles per game behind CJ Allen. "His reaction speed, his instincts just jump off the screen"
NC State TE Justin Joly should go in the 50-100 range.
Says rounds 3-4 is the sweet spot for the next RBs to go after Jeremiah Love.
