1. you choose your head coach based off of how someone acts in an airport during a vacation? hmmm. I like mayo, and hearing that was stupid
2. it's a good thing we didn't ship out a couple of the best OLmen in the entire league in the last handful of years for absolutely no f reason

We suck, but at least in thirty years from now when I’m a lot older I’ll be able to tell stories about the glory days of our Patriots. It sucks that we suck but we did get to watch a lot of good.
I am older… started following the Patties when they sucked, all the way through the great years, I’m already telling stories about the glory days

wtf was that or call timeouts?
The kid could of got a TD.
wow!

If the patriots called To, then the jets would have called a full blitz once or twice.

And maybe, just maybe, Maye wouldn't have been injured.

The jets weren't coming full force after Maye. Be thankful!

Yes. Even Andrews and Onwenu had their struggles. Severe lack of talent in this unit.
We played a good Defense with 2 rookies, including one starting out of position in his first start at LT, and a player who was on the Practice Squad a week ago. What did you expect?

In Mayo’s press conference after the game, he was asked about if they might make a change at starting QB next week. He didn’t shut it down or say “Jacoby is our guy” like prior weeks. Instead, he said “um - … I don’t know, maybe, we will get together as a staff and look at the film and re-evaluate and go from there”

To me… that means they have already decided the answer and he didn’t want to say it
Said from the start, dislike the fact how Mayo isn’t more tight lipped. I get it we had the steel curtain for over 20 years and some didn’t like it, but this new Mayo-speak shows he has no clue what he’s doing. Words matter. Always say less.

Big talent deficit showed. Add a lot of inexperience, especially on the OL. Sprinkle in a significant number of injuries and a short week and you have a recipe for last night.

He made a couple.good throws but also a few bad ones which is normal. Overall it was positive but not much else.
That 4th down to Pop in the RZ, there is absolutely 0% chance that Brissett can make this throw. That’s why you start Maye.

You need him to get accustomed to the NFL speed. It’s clear that he was nervous at the beginning and that led to some bad throws and decisions. I give credit to Brissett being able to scramble but he is slow and will not kill your with his legs. If you let Maye scramble he can definitely kill you with his legs. If he can connect on some deep balls it will make the pass rush back off a bit. You’ll probably see less stacked box and will free up the running game. Brissett isn’t putting fear in any defense and makes the offense one dimensional.

Maye will make some mistakes and throw some picks even if in college, despite what people think, he wasn’t putting the ball in arms way a lot. He had a really low percentage of turnover worthy play last year.

His first throw was a 4-yard stick route, that nearly went back for 6.

The only question after that "show" that crosses mind is : what was worse, defense or offense?

Between Barmore and Bentley the heart of the defense has been gutted. The offense not being able to sustain any drives did them absolutely no favors, suprised they only gave up 24.

If you're going to lose art least give Maye some experience. If he is such a snowflake that the rigors of the NFL cause him to curl up in the fetal position you draft another QB next draft. Not 1st but keep taking shots until you find a guy who can play.

Jacoby has been on the Colts and Browns and still struggled. Do you mean to tell me that every team that Jacoby plays on doesn't have WRs or OL? Nope. I see Mark Sanchez out there. Jacoby just runs the play called hoping for the best. He never surveys the DL alignment to see where pressure might come from.

Being strictly in gun when Maye was in will be interesting to watch going forward
Drake Maye was strictly a shotgun QB at UNC. He had that extra beat to see the defense unfold. The problem is that it puts the RBs at a disadvantage by not allowing them to get a running start to the line on handoffs.

The offensive line is so overmatched. The Patriots should seriously look at platooning Joe Milton with Drake Maye to spread the snaps between two big kids who can run and throw the ball. Maye's much more accurate, but Milton can scare the hell out of secondaries to keep them out of the backfield.
