They could have drafted a higher tackle, but I am not sure they could have gotten a legitimate LT this offseason. There was no one in free agency. And drafting Maye really didn’t give them an opportunity to draft a legitimate LT because all the best ones were gone by the late part of the first round.
Judon wasn't a long-term answer here due to his age. That was a move for the future, not this season. If he's here, they're still not going to the Super Bowl, so I don't fault them for making that move.

The thing about attracting FA's is you at least gotta let them build an opportunity for their next contract. In any offensive position with the Patriots, you're not getting that, period.
Brisset is really worse than I thought... He might want to pray Milton doesn't develop, or his cushy back up QB job in NE might be in jeopardy after this season
Still, I can't bring myself to getting any kind of angst for this season. Our team is bad, every position needs improvements, some of our few actual good players are on IR and we already have the QB of the future.
I won't ever cheer for tanking, but all I want is 2 more wins this year and I'll be satisfied

You'd have Judon for maybe a season or two, and you'd have a team that might win an extra handful of games. This is a roster bereft of talent on the other side of the ball - they're going to need every draft choice they can get.
If they have an offense that can get a lead and play from ahead, they can force an opponent to become one-dimensional. You can see what happens when they can't score and what happens...doesn't matter how many sacks Judon would have if they can't score points.
