2024 New England Patriots Schedule Reactions

Why all the *****ing! The league is trying to do us a favor by handing us the no.1 overall pick for all the times they screwed us over and that’s the thanks they get?
It’s going to be another long season. They still have to play the games.

Buffalo twice in 3 weeks? This was like Miami in 1997. Schedule makers just lumped them together to get it over with.

No win until November?

"Based on winning percentage (.512) from last season, the Patriots have the NFL’s eighth-most difficult schedule, which isn’t ideal for a team that went 4-13 in 2023. Even worse, their schedule ranks second-toughest based by opponents’ over/under win totals, per Vegas oddsmakers."

It would be fun to play spoiler for them in the final 3 weeks and hand them a loss to screw up their playoff chances.

how can the patriots that finished last in the afc have the second most difficult schedule in the entire nfl ? goodell hard at work !

That is nothing like Pittsburgh's schedule anomaly.... they don't have a division game until week 10, so they finish with 6 of 8 against the division.

The notion that they have the #2 toughest schedule in the nfl is based on every team's predicted win total, which is nothing more than a worthless prediction.

If we look at every team's actual records from last year, NE is #8. It is one of the consequences of being at the bottom of your division.... you don't get to play yourself so all the divisional teams have better records than you.

We play the AFC south and NFC West, plus our 6 AFCE games, plus 3 other games: @Cin, @Chi, and the Chargers.

Isn't most of it formulaic? Just the rotation.
It is 100% formulaic. 14 of the 17 games were set in stone no matter how teams finished, with 3 opponents (Cincy, Chicago, LAC) based on how they and the Patriots finished last year. The usual blaming Goodell is patsfans.com being patsfans.com.

I could give you 14 of next year's 17 opponents right now if I wanted to - and probably make pretty reasonable guesses as to the 3 unknowns.

yeah.. i know...i just like dragging goodell.

Optimistically I could see us winning 9. We should start 1-1 against Cinci & Sea, then we’ll lose 4 straight at the Jets, at SF, v Mia, v Hou.
Then I could see us get it together and win 5 straight against Jags, Jets, Titans, Bears, Rams. Then split the final 6.
I don’t think we’ll cave after the rough start cause nobody will expect us to do any better than 1-5 against those teams, and we’ll be improving each week. Better this season to have the toughest part of the schedule early.

Pessimistically 4-13 if we start say 2-8, which is very possible.

Unless Maye surprises in camp, a goal for a week 15 start seems reasonable.
Maye will start around the London game.

I think he’ll sit 6-8 weeks max.

Bengals have been starting slow the last 2 years. I think we win that game. Seattle is winnable too.

A 2-0 start could give us some confidence. If we can start 2-0 I think we will be at worst 3-3 after our first 6 games.

That looks a tough start

Am I the only one who sees 18-0??

Not sure, but you definitely make a great point. I’ll have to do some digging.
look like they used to give the london teams byes after international travel, but over the last few seasons, that hasn't been the case... no bog deal i guess, the flight isn't that long, at least for east coast teams
