Post your predictions here for Week 10, New England Patriots at Chicago Bears.

This contest is open to everyone, it's both a weekly and a season-long contest. Stakes are bragging rights.

*********** PLEASE NOTE THE SLIGHT CHANGE FOR THIS SEASON *********

******** Above the reply box is now an area to make your score prediction: ************

Here's an example of what it looks like:

You just slide the red markers and select your score, and then post your reply with your prediction and any additional comments in this thread so we can keep it the same way it always has been, with the exception of having you pick your score. This allows either me or @alamo to update the results much faster, ie: I've been posting the results within a day or two after the game

You will also want to drop a comment with your prediction as well for the sake of keeping the spirit of this contest intact as that's how @alamo has always done it. The scrollbars are just to make it easier for it to be tallied.

Getting back to the rules, as a one-time allowance for computer problems, forgetfulness, or whatever, one week can be missed and will be assigned that week's average score.

SCORING:

Your score is the COMBINED deviation of your predicted score for the Pats and opponents REGARDLESS OF DIRECTION.
For example, if you predict Patriots 31 Bears 23 your score is how many points off of 31 the Pats are (over or under does not matter) PLUS how many points off of 23 the Bears are (over or under again does not matter). Game winner does not matter. Lowest score wins.

You may change your prediction at any time before kickoff, which the window will close at that time and your selection will stand. Please keep this thread to predictions only (after you make the pick), no back-and-forth discussion of the game. A short comment explaining your pick is OK and encouraged after you've made your selection.

Good Luck!

Patriots play a hard-fought game and eek out a win:

Patriots: 20
Bears: 19

Pats gonna surprise this week.

31-13 Pats

I'm not optimistic, but I am going with my heart on this one.

27-24 good guys.

Williams isn’t very good, but the Bears have a pretty good defense against the pass, playing at home and desperately need the game.

Definitely a game that Maye can win but think his supporting cast will let him down.
I’m also all in on a better draft pick at this point

Patriots 20
Bears 30

The Patriots have turned into NFL's opponent "get back on track" game.

I'm going back to try again and pick against the Pats last time I did that they won. Then I went to picking the Pats at the Titans and they lost. Maybe they'll win again if I pick against them.

More of the same.. maye daye dazzling, does electric things with his arm and legs.. WRs continue to fail, OL continues to suck, defense gets run though to an easy Bears win by 10 points.

The Bears are a bunch of bums, but they are far more talented overall than our guys. Bears fans will hope that their team is sufficiently embarrassed or pissed by their recent play that they will be motivated to make an effort. Our team, meanwhile, woefully deficient in talent, aside from our QB who weekly gets to play the role of the mechanical rabbit at the greyhound track, and poorly coached, will probably lose even with their best efforts. So unless the Bears are even bigger bums than they have seemed, they'll probably win, and if they have a mean streak, they might even inflict a pretty humiliating loss.

I hope we get to see the younger players - draftees - who have not yet had much of a chance. I suppose that might lessen our chances of winning, but who cares? Thinking of the draft - and we damned well better be thinking about the draft - every loss from here on out is in an important way a win. We are that bad. Winning for the most part for the remainder of the season just isn't on the table, and that's a cloud with a genuine silver lining.
