DRAFT 2024 3rd Round Pick - OT Caeden Wallace

How many do you need? Onwenu, Sow, Strange, Mafi. You're going to use the #68 pick in the draft when your team has holes all over the place? Or so I'm told. What's next? Another QB (oooops, I guess so)?
This isn't very hard at all. We drafted 3 OL's last year. They thought that they needed an upgrade from Mafi.

So, spent the 100th pick of the draft on a backup

This is what it looks like:

Okorafor/Anderson
Sow/Strange/Mafi
Andrews/Andrews
Onwenu/Robinson
Wallace

Forgot about Stubby. Yeah he definitely should've been the first to go.

Sow, Andrews and Mafi were backups on a really bad OL.
The Sow was our starter at RG; agree about the other two, who suck.

We brought in Leverette and Robinson. They may be as good as Mafi and Sow.
Robinson is definitely better than Mafia, but not as good as the Sow. Leverette just plain Sucks.

...The answer is NOT that the staff doesn't know what they are doing...

Why not? Staffs get fired every year for the poor decisions they made.

...If you drafted a guard and they are simply mediocre, it's not even worth keeping them. You have to keep drafting guards.

Or just sign one or two during the free agency period, and use your draft resources elsewhere.

Strange is made of glass sugar glass Mafi sucks Sow has potential you still need decent backups who can Start. We are not that deep @ Guard I think he's going be a good Starting Tackle and you all are going to eat crow stew.

I am biased being a one time ND diehard, (before I started watching the SEC closely)but I think comparing all the OT pairings, ND had the best this past year.
I would rank it Alt/Fisher ND; Campbell/ Jones LSU; Fatanu/Rosengarten Wash; Fashanu/Wallace PSU; Henderson/Jones Mich
All these are great pairs. I can't believe I ranked Michigan 5th best and they won the national title, but here it is
Wow, no respect for Oregon State? They were top notch.

Strange was leg whipped to the knee cap.

He started 17 games his rookie year.

10 straight games his soph year until that play.

This wasn't a muscle strain or a pull or an ACL, but a freak thing on the field.

You're the type who would blame Joe Theisman for his broken leg.

Andrews doesn't suck.

Go look at the game he started at the end of the season. I watched him the whole time. He was really good. He is impossible to move.

Hard to know how he'll do in the run game, because we didn't bother running that game.

But in pass protection, you're not going to bully him. You're just not. He is a load.

Well to quote the Great LT "I don't do anything half-way".

Fuaga and Gray were a good pair but who would you take out of the teams I listed? MI? They won the national title. ND/LSU/Wash/PSU I think were all better. Just My opinion.
Where would you put Proctor/Latham from AL? Proctor started slowly but came on at the end of the year.

Put those two on the teams you mentioned and we’re having a different conversation. The OSU offense was garbage. They were the only reason they did as well as they did, even with other teams not respecting DJ Usuckaleili, they still ran the ball at a good clip (and pass blocked). No offense to other tandems but you underrate these two.

Not arguing, but again, what pair would you place Fuaga and Gray ahead of? How would you rank them? Fuaga had a great year and it shows in his draft position. Gray was less than 100% most of the year and he should show more this year if his foot is okay but that being said, I really can't rank them ahead of any of the other 5 or 6 pairs. I am interested in what your ranking would be.

There is zero evidence that Onwenu is moving to RG,

Don't you still want Sow to move to LG?

Doesn't this leave a hole at RG where we drafted Robinson?

I don’t do such rankings. Just like people say Drake was trash this year compared to J Daniels so he’s way better but neglect to compare the twos production from 2022. Anyways I don’t think I can say any one pair was that much better than these two, no matter their draft position (Wash & PSU). Top 3 pair OTs I saw all year. No question. As you said Gray got hurt and it was evident how important he was to the offense after they struggled, to say the least.
