2024 / 2025 College Watch Thread

What a beat down by OSU so far. Was interested to watch Pearce from Tennessee, but so far he’s invisible

Bama-ND would have been a better game than what we saw last night…
Or maybe not if Bama couldn’t beat Tennessee who is getting stomped right now

So the playoffs are ready to roll with....

(10) Indiana v Notre Dame (7)
(11) SMU v Penn State (6)
(12) Clemson v Texas (5)
(9) Tennessee V Ohio State (8)

Should be some good match ups....

A bit of guesswork for me , so for fun , I will take Notre Dame , Penn State , Texas , Tennessee to win.
Wow , I was way off with the Tennessee pick.

Hosting the very first 12-team playoff turned out to be very worth it. The blowouts didn't really make for great scouting opportunities but I did like what I saw from Center from Tennessee.

Maye under center Mays how fitting is that?

First of the Quarter finals tonight....

Boise State (3) v Penn State (6)

Not sure who will win this one. I have heard more about Penn State as a football team but that does not mean much in a one off game...however I will still pick Penn State to win.

Players to watch out for...

Boise State RB.....Ashton Jeanty.....Heisman Trophy runner up....344 carries , 2497yds , 29 TD's , ave 7.3 yds
(132 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders single season all time record of 2628 yards)

Penn State Defensive End.....Abdul Carter.....63 tackles , 40 solo/23 asst , PD 3 , 11 sacks
Penn State Tight End Tyler Warren......92 catches , 1095yards , 6 TD's....ave 11.9 yds

Apologies if I made some errors with the stats

I should have also mentioned there are some bowl games on tonight as well including....

Alabama v Michigan
Baylor v LSU

Not sure if these teams will be a full strength as I would think there could be some players declared for the draft and not playing tonight.

Michigan winning 16-0 at the start of the second quarter.

Dont want any of the Alabama tackles

Michigan wins 19 to 13 against Alabama

Jeanty not looking good at all
2 fumbles 1 lost

For us draftnims this PSU-BSU game is an “ugh-fest.” Jeanty fumbling and Carter injured. Warren looks like a stud however. No way he makes out of the first round playing like thst. Penn State’s OL is keeping this game close, they stink.

Tyler Warren looks like a player
Not sure how is speed will translate in the NFL

3 more playoff games today/tonight...

Arizona State (4) v Texas (5)
Oregon (1) v Ohio State (8)
Georgia (2) v Notre Dame (7)

I will go for Texas and Georgia to win. I have more of a struggle picking the winner of the Oregon or Ohio State game. I am going to take Oregon to win , lets see.

Cam Skattebo - RB , 5th in Heisman Trophy ratings , 263 carries for 1568 yards , 19 TD's , avg 6 , no fumbles
Xavion Alford - DB - 82 tackles , 37 solo , 45 asst , 4 PD , 5 interceptions

Texas -

Jahdae Barron - DB - Thorpe award winner , 50 tackles , 35 solo , 15 asst , 5 interceptions , 11 pass breakups , plays multi positions in secondary

2) Oregon v Ohio State

Oregon -

Derrick Harmon - DT , 42 tackles , 24 solo , 18 Asst , PD 2 , 5 sacks
Jordan James - RB - 226 carries , 1253 yards , 15 TD'd , avg 5.5
Tez Johnson - WR - 78 rec , 866 yards , 10 TD's avg 11.1

Ohio State -

Emeka Egbuka - WR - 65 Rec , 824 yards , 9 TD's avg 12.7
JT Tuimoloau - Edge - 46 tackles , 24 solo 22 asst , 2 PD , 8 sacks
Treveyon Henderson - RB - 118 carries , 831 yards , 8 TD's , avg 7 yds

3) Georgia v Notre Dame

Georgia -

Malachi Starks - Safety - 73 tackles , 48 solo , 25 assts , 3 PD , 1 interception
Mykel Williams - EDGE - 20 tackles , 15 solo , 5 asst , 5 sacks

Notre Dame -

Xavier Watts - Safety - 60 tackles , 36 solo , 24 asst , 8 PD , 6 interceptions
Howard Cross - DT - 23 tackles , 12 solo , 1 asst , 4 sacks

Again , apologies if I got the stats incorrect , this was all a bit of a rush and I did not have time to check various sites , as I had been out visiting on New Years Day.

I hope Arizona has a plan B

I hope Arizona has a plan B
Apparently plan B was just "plan A, but on a shorter timeline."

Skattebo has just been insane here in the fourth quarter. The Patriots really should draft him.

Wow. Longhorns' D lost control of Skattebo, game tied up with less than 2 min and they miss the go-ahead FG.

No targeting there? Wow.

Auburn Ber(n)t again! Rough...

Skattebo is my binky. Not impressed with Kelvin Banks movement in this game. Love Golden so much.

What a wild game for momentum swings. TX owns the 1st half, AZ the second, AZ early in OT, TX to finish. Very entertaining game.
