Not sure why the Chargers ran so much man against the Dolphins. They don't have the secondary for it. On that second play, they had a second year, six round back up one on one with Hill (and a safety way out of position to boot to provide over the top help). You are going to lose those battles all the time.

I expect a lot of zone from the Pats. They are not going to leave the over the top unprotected either.

Tua made a lot of very high degree of difficulty throws against the Chargers. They got pressure on him. The DBs gave decent coverage. This is like a college basketball team that shoots 65% in a game, and everyone thinks they're fantastic. The opposing team played solid defense, but everything went in that night. They can't do it again the next game because it's almost impossible.

As for Tyreek's first game last year, remember they sent him out of the backfield and in the slot, and rarely sent him downfield. He gained all his yards that way. They exploited us the way the Bills did with McKenzie the prior year. But things have changed on the Patriot defense. It's not Bentley, Bryant and McCourty with those short responsibilities anymore.

According to the stats, Tua was only pressured 5 times in 45 attempts. I didn't watch the game, but it looks like he wasn't pressured at all by the Chargers. For comparisons, Mac was pressured 24 times in 54 passes.

This one said that Tua was hurried 3 times while Mac was hurried 17.

According to the stats, Tua had time to throw. He was barely pressured. Only hit twice. Never sacked. That was part of the problem for the Chargers, they never pressured Tua.

Patriots have CG this time around and the DL is playing well. Should be an interesting game. Anytime Wynn is on the OL, it should be a cause for concern.

I just can't believe we're at such a desperate place with WR's already. I'm just sick of this story every year with the Pats.
Boutte is limited with a hammy. Parker has a bad knee. JSS had a bad knee since last year - and looks like Wiggins (now). TT is a twig.
So, our only healthy guys are Bourne & Pop. Are we going to have to bring up Reagor for this game?

Is Harry available?

Reagor is one option. But we should wait until we see who's going to play first. Lots of players are limited during the week then play on Sunday. No reason to assume Boutte or JuJu won't be available. But we also could use Gesicki more, and Montgomery is a hybrid RB/WR. So we see a lot more "2 TE" sets with Gesicki detached from the line.

Nothing about injuries is ever ideal, but the solution isn't always a guy with the same positional moniker.

Juju's not even listed on the injury report... why are we worried he might not play?

Boutte and Parker are limited but practiced. They have a few more days to get ready. They also have Ty Monty who can play WR, so can Marcus Jones, and can play heavy TE sets, which they should anyway because they should run the ball against the Phins.

The Dolphins allowed 233 rushing yards in game one. Use a power run game, ram it down their throats.

That's ridiculous. Come on, seriously? Did Hurts look "light years" ahead of Mac? Hurts literally looked very average in week 1. Tua is up and down, and will be shown to have a few duds this season (if he makes it through a whole season) - and one dud might be this week.

I don't get the Mac hate?! Can't football fans accept that if a guy isn't the GOAT, he can still be a very serviceable QB and improve to the point of leading a team to wins. Can Mac help lead the Pats to wins? He's done it. Not consistently, but the team has been nothing but inconsistent across the board for the last 4 years. Let's give this season a chance. And the best chance it has is with Mac at QB.
I debunked his post.. I mentioned hurts was almost traded for Russ.. Tua was benched at time prior to getting Hill..
Common denominator they got elite WR that elevated thier games. Give Mac guys like they have and he'd put up #s

Agree.. please trade for Mike Evans.. don't know why it wasn't already done!!! Parker good WR but oft injured, TT can't stay on the field long enough to be impactful. Boutee and DD feel like they will be players though...

Patriots front seven on defense is healthy, that's great. Love the pressure. Our offensive line is patchwork with 2 guys concussed. Dam shame, Mac will be under alot of pressure. Me personally, leave the backs in to protect him ALL game.
